“Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity,” this is how Ricky Martin describes heroes. This quote indicates that it doesn't matter who you are you can be a hero whether you do something big or small it will still have an impact on someone or something. Heroism can not only mean being positive but also someone who puts other people before them, is courageous and is not scared of anything, and also does not make bad decisions. According to “A Soldier Home After Losing His Arm In Afghanistan,” it states, “...of course, the loss of a leg changed me, but it doesn’t define me or the rest of my life.” This example shows that just because you face or are facing a difficult challenge you always have to stay positive. In fact it is at those times where you need to be more positive and you will overcome your challenge just like the man who lost a leg did. Another example would be when my dad had an accident at his work where he cut his head open and broke an arm it didn't stop him from doing the things he liked. For example the doctors told him that he wasn’t going to be able to walk again because his brain had basically gone back to a little kid where he wasn't going to remember how and instead of giving up and saying negative things he believed that he was going to walk and he did. Instead they make good decisions by choosing what’s right. In the article, “Where I Find My Heroes,” by Oliver Stone it says, “Who is heroic?... the teenager who says no to crack. The inner-city kid who works at McDonalds instead of selling drugs…” This shows that even though it only affects you, you are still being a hero because you are making good decisions and thinking about what's right and what's wrong. Even though people get pressured they must do the right thing and go with the good decision. When heroes make good decisions, it sets a good example to other people to make the right choice. Life is full of decisions some are right and some are wrong you have to think about it before making a decision you would
