Perseus the son of Zeus is well known as the Greek hero no had killed the wicked snake haired lady Medusa, Hercules also the son of Zeus is a hero for his might strength and his will power to finish the 12 days of labor his cousin set up for him. A protagonist in the essay is both Hercules and Perseus because they were heroes, the antagonist is the cousin of Hercules and Perseus moms husband because they both sent the heroes to do something life threatening and courageous battles. Even though they both were Greek heroes they lived totally different lives when they were young and while they were older. Since Perseus and Hercules are both sons of Zeus, they are Demi gods. Hercules mother has abandoned him on the street where Athena found him and led him to Hera. First Perseus got told he had to kill Medusa and once he got told that he ran to the beach and cried, when he was crying Athena had helped him. Perseus then had the mission to kill Medusa. Everyone knows the story of Hercules, but not everyone knows that it follows the same pattern as most hero stories. Hercules is a story about the son of Zeus. When Hercules was a baby, Pain and Panic, Hades’ evil henchmen, gave him a potion to turn him mortal. It was prophesied that this baby would be the one to defeat Hades and they didn’t want that to come true. Since Hercules was now mortal, he could no longer live on Mount Olympus. A couple on earth took him in so he could grow up as a human. Hercules knew something was different about himself, so when he grew up, he set out to discover who he really was. Even though Hercules is an ancient Greek myth, it still follows Joseph Campbell’s modern basic outline of a hero’s journey.
The Task, In Perseus the main task that happens is when Perseus a demigod, son of Zeus goes out to capture something special. Perseus sets out on an adventure to kill Medusa and capture her head to bring back as a gift. The hard part is that in one glance eye to eye at Medusa you will automatically turn into stone. He goes to a journey to save a human’s kingdom against the fury of the Gods. In his journey, he realizes who he is and what he wants to be. Besides being a hero’s journey tale, this story describes the development of a relationship between a father and his son. The hero’s journey can be depicted as a purely reflection of the different stages in our lives, and counted as a great guideline to help us in our own journeys.
