Intro
Henry Ford was one of the greatest inventors of the 20th century. Brilliant and eccentric are words that where used to describe him. His vision was to help create the middle class in the US. By raising wages and raise free time. His greatest inventions where the assembly line, and the T- model car, each revolutionized the car industry. Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford and is now the second largest U.S based automaker, and the fifth largest in the world. On April 7th 1947 at the age of 83, Ford died in his home in Dearborn Michigan

Personal Information
Henry Ford was born in born in Springfield Township, Michigan on July 30, 1863. His parents were William and Mary Ford; he grew up on his parent’s farm. Henry was the oldest of six children. Before making cars Henry Ford was know for tinkering, he would take pieces of metal and turn them into small machines. When Ford wasn’t helping his father with the harvest he went to a one-room school for eight years. At the age of 16 he left home to work in Dearborn Michigan, at Flower Brothers Machines Shop, working as an assistant machinist. Ford was fired from his first job. Mary Ford was Henry’s inspiration as a child, and his role model and later his friend was Thomas Edison. In 1888 he married Clara Barynet. In 1893 Clara Barynet give birth to Edsel Ford, Henry Fords only child.

Milestones
In the following years Ford learned how to work and service steam engines. In 1883 the Edison Illuminating Company hired him, he later earned the position of chief engineer. After two years of working non stop Henry Ford made the first Quadricycle that did not need to be pulled by a horse. ... in hopes of ending the war Ford announces the Peace ship expedition. The plan was to sail to Europe and convince nations that where at war to stop fighting. His plan failed. Ford also ran for congress in hopes to end the war, this plane also failed. When world war two started in 1939 Ford fought to keep the United States from choosing sides. Ford hated war but after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor the Ford Motor Company became on of the United State’s biggest military contributors. The Ford Motor Company supplied airplanes, motors, jeeps, and tanks.

Henry would remain in Detroit working and learning about all varieties of machines. Although he occasionally came back to visit Dearborn, he mostly stayed in Detroit, picking up more and more valuable knowledge. This apprenticeship allowed him to work in the factories of Detroit and learn what a hard working blue-collar job was like. When he did return to Dearborn he was always tearing apart and rebuilding his fathers machines, along with the dreaded farm chores. Henry Ford was a hard worker and that was proven by him getting fired from one of his jobs in Detroit because the older employees we’re mad at him because he was finishing his repairs in a half hour rather than the usual five hours. Clara Bryant would represent the next step in now twenty-five year old Henry Ford’s life. The two lovers we’re married in 1888 and would endure good times as well as bad. In order to support his new wife Henry was forced to work the land as he ran a sawmill that was given to him by his father. His father actually attempted to bribe Henry to stay in the farming business as he gave him the land only under the condition that he would continue on as a farmer.
