INTRODUCTION: -cancer is a terminal disease that is effecting the population today - Leukemia is one type of cancer that currently effects 310, 046 people with an added estimated 48,610 expected to be diagnosed - Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It causes white blood cells (also called leukocytes) to develop abnormally. -Today’s scientists are currently looking for ways treat this deadly disease, using stem cells. - stem cells are multicellular organism that are capable of giving rise to indefinitely more cells. Stem cells are located in the bone marrow and are create blood cells with include white blood cells, (leukocytes) which fight infections; red blood cells (erythrocytes) which carry oxygen and remove waste products from organs and tissues -hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Transplantation treatment allows a donor who has healthy stem cells that match up with the infected patients, to transfer their stem cells to the body of the infected with an added component of chemotherapy -this treatment helps to rid of the diseases from the patient’s body, as the transferred stem cells travel from the blood (where it was injected) to the marrow, produce while blood cells, platelets and red blood cells that are necessary for function such as immunity, clotting and oxygen transport with a chance of relapse Thesis: This paper will discuss how Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Transplantation is unbeneficial for today’s society. Identify Supporting Arguments: (do not list them) 3 Disadvantages: economic charge for treatment, Long-term side effects, and not finding a match You must establish briefly their connection to your thesis/claim. How do the arguments help you to prove your thesis/claim? Each argument should be present... ... middle of paper ... ...in today’s society.
