As the chilly cold wind roared through the trees making thrashing sounds, the heavy rain bucketed down onto the charcoal grey asphalt road. The sky was gloomy and sunless.
I however, was on the school bus safely sheltered from the dreadful weather.
I wondered to myself why, what today would be like? My thoughts were short lived as the bus pulled into the garage. I glanced at my watch and realised it was 7:43pm.
“Late” I thought to himself “Late, Late”
As soon as I got off the bus, I dashed to my classroom on the 2nd floor. I made it just in time. And found my seat in the corner of the room.
“Good Morning 12th Graders!” said Mrs.Leroy sipping her cup of coffee “Let me just take attendance then we’ll start class!”
“Hey, Callum!” whispered my good friend Neville “How are things?”
“Good, quite good” I whispered back
During lunch recess, I hung out with Neville and another friend named James. James was quite nice, like Neville.
“So...Hi” said Neville trying to start a conversation
“Did you guys study for the math test we’re going to have tomorrow?” I replied
“Yep!” James and Neville replied happily
“Me too” I replied
After school while I was getting my bag from by locker, a boy approached me. He had an angular face and jet black hair.
“Listen To Me!!!” He yelled as he grabbed me “You’re that kid that always gets perfect grades, right?”
“Let me go!” I replied struggling to be free
“NO!” He yelled back “LISTEN, get bad grades on the test tomorrow”
“Why!”
“Just do it!” The boy replied “If you don’t, I’ll get you real good”
Then he threw me to the ground and ran off.
“What’s his problem” I whispered to myself “Still going to do my best on the test”
A few days later Mr.Drusan, our math teacher, handed back our test. Neville, Jam...

...elp you get good grades,” I reassured “Wanna go over to my house today, I can help you with whatever you need help with?”
“Sure, Thanks man, sorry about what I did to you. You’re the best,” George replied
I gotta admit, I was a little scared when I invited him over. But I did it because I knew I was the right thing.
“Hey, what do you need help with?” I asked George in a kind tone
“Umm...what about geography?” He replied
“Like the stuff that was on the previous test?” I asked calmly
“Yup!” He replied
And just like that, I started to help him.
I helped John with academics everyday after school. Neville and James also helped, we all became really good buddies. George managed to pass and even get perfect grades on the tests that followed. At the end of the year, John was able to be accepted by a great university. I gotta say, helping out others can also help you too!
Over the years I have been very involved in my community and school. Being a part of something helps to define who you are as a person and the principles and values you hold as important. A personal experience that helps to show my talents and skills can be illustrated by my trip to Italy last April with the MHS Language Department.
"Oh yeah, piece of cake." A smile stretches across his face. "I heard you saying you don't understand, " he put his hand on her shoulder in a sort-of motion of comfort, "You'll do fine. " Again the smile, and he walked size off to another group of kids.
It was a bleak summer’s evening with the shadows deepening on a path that ambled down between bitternut hickory trees, and then cut sideways across a field of tiny green grapevines. There was a wind beginning, small gusts that rattled the fence posts and set the dandelions dancing in unison on the broad expanse of lawn. Rain spotted our shirts and glistened on our nylon backpacks.
Lucky Chance smiled. "Hey, don’t feel bad. Haven’t you ever almost failed like this when you were starting out?"
One time, when I was around five, it was night time and I had a school project to turn in the next day, I approached my mother and told her that I needed help with my project. Of course I told her that I had to turn in the project the next day, and she proceeded to scold me for waiting until the last minute to do my work, but never the less she accepted to help me. If I had asked for help when I was five, I must have asked for help later in my life, because I’m sure I’ve needed help many times, and not only from my mother but from friends, teachers, peers, strangers, and family.
“I’m glad one of us is confident,” I said. I rolled onto my back and stared up at the ceiling, wishing I could sink into the mattress and sleep forever. “It may be too late for me to do anything.”
“Don’t worry about him. He hates me, so he’ll act like that whenever I’m around. I’m sure if you talk to him yourself he’ll be much nicer.
Suddenly, I recognized the building. Just last week, I had visited the exact same campus. My eyes explored the hall in front of me for the second time. It’s Early College High School, I realized. This school is extremely academically orientated, I recalled.
...e student to expand their interests and gain experience in fields of work related to their studies. Furthermore, it can help recent graduates to lighten the burden of student loan repayment. Volunteering is a wonderful gateway to help give back to the community, and to provide a service to those in need. There is much to be learned from volunteering, and there are always positions available seeking the help of those who are willing to give their time.
We continued down the infinitely long interstate towards our destination. Thunder clouds continued to rumble in, like an ocean tide rolling closer and closer to the beach front. Within minutes the entire landscape was calm and dark. It looked like a total eclipse of the sun, and the once ...
I was waiting for my boyfriend to join me like usual. He was always the last one out. We sat in the same seats every bus journey to and from school. The other kids on the bus were always scared to sit in our seats because they thought we would beat them up.
I was afraid that he wouldn’t welcome this change in his routine that I was bringing, but he was extremely warm and polite; he had the amiable personality that makes anyone feel as though they could easily open up to him. As we start conversing, it is almost as if he wanted someone to come and talk with him.
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
