Cassie was a 14-year-old girl who had a lot going on in her life. One of the major parts of her life was her love life. It was very complicated, and for her, it was very difficult to understand and to keep track of. One cold spring night, Cassie was playing on her laptop with one of her best guy friends, Ralph. They were just goofing off, laughing, having fun, and playing on various computer games. Ralph and Cassie were having a lot of fun tonight, laughing a lot more than usual, when suddenly Ralph got serious for a minute. “Cassie?” he asked? Cassie stopped laughing. “Yes?” she responded. Ralph hesitated for a moment and decided to bite his tongue. “Umm, nothing,” he said. “Are you sure?” Cassie asked. “No,” Ralph joked, “I’m Ralph!” Both of them laughed. There was something that Ralph wanted to tell Cassie, but he couldn’t find the courage to tell her. After many more laughs and much more joking, their gaming session was finally over. Cassie went to bed, but she couldn’t fall asleep. She wanted badly to know what Ralph was going to tell her at that awkward serious moment. She finally came up with a conclusion, but not of what he was saying. She got up, out of bed, and grabbed her phone. She sent a text to her best friend, Raquel. She texted: Hey, Raq! Cassie waited a while, but there was no response to her text. Disappointed, she went back to bed. The next day, at school, Cassie immediately walked up to Raquel. “Hey, Raq,” she said, “How come you didn’t reply to my text last night?” Raquel replied, “Sorry, Cassie. I just didn’t want to get involved.” Cassie was confused. “What do you mean?” she asked. “Well,” Raquel said, “I didn’t want to get involved with what you were going to talk to me about.” “How did you know... ... middle of paper ... ...o keep call. She went to her next class, with Roger was also in. She didn’t try to hurry, though, because she knew that he wouldn’t tell her anything about what Ralph and he were talking about. When Cassie got to class, she was surprised to find Roger already there. “Hey, Roger,” Cassie said as she walked towards his desk. “Shhh!” Roger replied, “I forgot to do my homework!” “Oh,” Cassie replied.” A few seconds later, Roger said, “Done.” “Great,” Cassie said, “So now we can talk? Roger laughed. “I’m not telling you what Ralph and I were talking about if that’s what you want to know,” he said. “That’s not what I wanted to talk to you about,” Cassie lied. “Oh, really,” Roger said, “So what did you want to talk to me about, then?” Cassie hesitated for a moment, in thought. Finally, she said, “I was wondering if you wanted to play games on the computer with me tonight.”
