Health, wellness, and lifestyle are imperative components of overall wellbeing. Although these terms are often used interchangeably, a clear difference is seen when they are defined. Health is a broad term that encompasses physical, mental, and social wellbeing. This means that being healthy does not mean one is free of illness, but that one’s spirit, body, and mind are all in a positive state. Wellness is the attitude one has towards not only their health, but their outlook on life. To be well means to have a positive approach to living. The key to a proper lifestyle is strong decision making, whether it be choosing which foods to eat or how to spend free time. My current state of health is not very good, and I think it is important to note the large role that attitude plays. I have an extremely negative perspective on living. While I remain undiagnosed because I have yet to see a proper therapist, I often experience overwhelming feelings of depression and anxiety. Unfortunately, my depressive and suicidal thoughts regularly leave me with no motivation for anything, even activities I once enjoyed. Since I repeatedly find myself no longer wanting to live, the idea of making proper lifestyle choices to elongate my time on earth is unappealing. It is a vicious cycle; I do not want to live because I am unhappy with my life and current health, but I struggle to change because the feeling of hopelessness is overpowering. Ideally, I will have a couple of degrees, a steady job, and lots of travelling experiences. In regards to health, I hope that poor mental wellbeing does not burden me to the extent it does today. Whether I decide to take the appropriate steps for professional help or I have an epiphany that provides me with the necessary motivations in life, I want to be free from the strain mental illness causes. Hopefully, the future holds a sempiternal desire to make suitable lifestyle choices. I do not want to be overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy in 20 years. Although being an Olympian would be cool, I do not aspire to be an incredibly fit athlete, I just want to be in my best possible
