A health problem is a state in which a person is unable to function normally without pain, it can also be known as ill health or unhealthiness. Nigeria is a developing country whose health sector is severely lacking. Nigeria has a lot of health problems but some of the major health problems are Malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. However, the health problem which will be discuss is HIV/AIDS. HIV which is human immune deficiency virus which attacks the body immune system therefore interfering the body ability to fight off other virus bacteria or pathogens while AIDS which is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, this is the chronic and more life threatening form of the viral infection.

People fail to understand that HIV/AIDS is just like every other viral infection just more severe. Friends and family members of the people who have this infection tend to stay away from the infected, this leads to the infected not only sick physical but also mental(depression). This does not only affect their personal life but also their work life due to the fact that people do not want to hire you because you have HIV infection. The Nigeria government to an initiative in 2006 to provided free antiretroviral treatment because of the financial burden it was, but the location of this free clinics are so sparsely located that it still financial burden of transportation. Health care services unlike most developing countries are out of pocket cost, people living with HIV/AIDS who immunity are already low are good candidate for opportunist pathogens therefore they get other disease which may require in patient care, medicines, doctor consultation which cost money. A country which one third of the population is below poverty line, where have a meal per day is a problem cannot only afford the financial burden of transportation, healthy food and addition non routine doctor visitation or drugs end up losing their life surprising not to HIV but to common infection like
