Health Care cost refers to how much the country spends on health care services. The following determine how much money is used for it. Today health care cost in the United States is rising due to many factors. On this paper a discussion will be place of the reasons why the cost has raised and this has caused a more difficult access to obtain healthcare and the quality of health care is being provided by doctors. The main reason why health cost is so high is because of economic inflation. Economic inflation is leading to medical inflation (Bloch & Pupp, 1985). There are several issues concerning the uninsured and underinsured patient population in America. There are many areas of concern the congressional efforts to increase the availability of health insurance, the public image of the insurance industry illustrated by the movie "John Q", the lack of good management tools, and creating health insurance coverage for all low income Americans. Since the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 43 million from 37 million in the flourishing 1990s and could shoot up even more severely if the economy continues to decrease and health care premiums keep increasing (Insurance No Simple Fix, 2001).

In order to provide affordable health care, majority of the US government has tried out different policies time to time, but unable to get success in realizing the actual policy goals. Lack of doctors is one of the primary issue in providing high quality health care to the citizens especially those who are financially poor. It is interesting with how different America’s health care is from everyone else in the world. Most are universal, required to have health care. We are trying to accomplish that in America, but many don’t like being taxed if they don’t have it. There definitely is a lot we can learn from other countries. Overall Switzerland has a great system set up, with the United Kingdom behind them. Japan is also on track. America is definitely trying to make head way, and eventually will. It all comes down to weighing what is most important, cost, quality, or access to health care.
