Health Care cost refers to how much the country spends on health care services. The following determine how much money is used for it. Pharmaceutical, medical equipment, medical supplies, public functions of health care and doctors are included in this group to determine cost. Today health care cost in the United States is rising due to many factors. On this paper a discussion will be place of the reasons why the cost has raised and this has caused a more difficult access to obtain healthcare and the quality of health care is being provided by doctors. The main reason why health cost is so high is because of economic inflation. Economic inflation is leading to medical inflation (Bloch & Pupp, 1985). The first reason why health care cost has risen is because of the third party payment. Since the patient is not paying for the actual service but the insurance obtained through his job is; the misused of it leads to more unnecessary spending. Unfortunately, we are not emphasizing on preventing diseases before they happen and this is why Americans are not as healthier as other people from other countries. Quality is hard to be define on a system that lacks of prioritizing the patient health first. Quality has not been taking seriously (Al Rashdi, 2011) Providers are afraid that if they don’t do testing on their patients they can get a lawsuit and this is just the start of a bad practice. There is no trust. The cost is completely involved in this because of what was mention before. Even physicians are worried about production not the patient itself. Obamacare made changes in laws regards to the quality of care but with the new president on board this is clearly now a mystery and future is uncertain in what health care will
