With great attractions like Busch Gardens, Museum of Science and Industry, Tampa Lowry Park and Zoo and plenty of fine and cultural dining locations, Hillsborough County makes an exciting place not only to visit but live. It is located on the west coast of central Florida. Even though Hillsborough County has 3,671 cities, towns, and other populated areas, Hillsborough County has 10 cities which includes Tampa, Brandon, Town ‘n’ Country, Greater Carrollwood, Egypt Lake-Leto, University, Plant City, and Lake Maga, but only three are incorporated cities which include Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace.
POPULATION ECONOMIC STATUS ASSESSMENT
With a population of 1,277,746 in 2012 from 646,939 in 1980 and expected to grow up to 1,439,000 in 2020, this area has grown double in 32 years. There are slightly more women compared to men at 51.8% to 48.2%. This is near the national average. In 2010, the median age of the area was 36.1 years old and the highest percentage age group ranged from 45-49 years old. The majority of the population at 71.8% is Caucasian then Hispanics is 25.1%. The Hispanic or Latino population includes Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban. The strong history of Cuban migrants leads to 5.3 % of Hillsborough county population. African American or Black is 16.9 %. The diversity in the area is also noted with a mixture of American Indian and Alaska Natives, Asians, Asian Indians, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Mexican and Puerto Ricans as a small minority.
A variety of industries in the area provide diversity in employment for the residents of major Federal interstates I-4, I-75, and I-275 which run through Hillsborough County, in

During the early 1920s, Florida was flourishing economically. Land sales were reaching planetary heights, tourism was booming, and new residents were coming in every day. By September 1926, the population of Dade County and the new City of Miami had blossomed to more than 100,000 and construction was all over. Although Florida was prosperous that was only on the surface, behind the scenes there existed a widespread of poverty. And things got even worst when the 1926 hurricane hit Florida. The hurricane was described by the U.S. Weather Bureau in Miami as "probably the most destructive hurricane ever to strike the United States." Severe flooding and wind damage weakened communities. Lake Okeechobee flooded and drown over 2,000 people in nearby communities. Many buildings that were a work in progress were damaged and discontinued, tourism was at an all-time low, and also many citizens lost their homes. And The Great Depression didn’t make things any easier. Florida was in trouble and in need of help.
The national park also employs hundreds of Floridians. Because Florida relies so heavily on the tourism industry, there are also many different activities offered around the Everglades area. Many tourists can enjoy airboat rides into the wetlands or alligator and crocodile sight-seeing boat tours. Within the last five years, tourists have collectively spent over $500,000,000 in the areas surrounding the Everglades National Park. Florida has had quite an eventful history. It’s first human inhabitants are believed to be several Native American tribes, including The Panzacola, Chatot, Apalachicola, Apalachee, Timucua, Calusa, and the Matecumbe. These tribes occupied land all over Florida.
In conclusion, the state of Florida is made up into a wide range of state and local government agencies. The state agencies include the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The local agencies include the counties, municipalities, and special purpose districts. The counties and municipalities are general purpose agencies that include county and city government. The special purpose agencies are districts created for functions such as transportation, schools, water, etc.

Recent protests by City of Miami Police Officers have captured the attention of Miami-Dade County. Protesters are complaining that very low wages have created a scarce supply of police officers in the City of Miami.
