2. HEALTH EDUCATION
Health education is about giving information and teaching individuals and communities how to achieve a good health, which is nursing common role. It raises individual awareness, and giving the health knowledge needed to decide on a specific health action. Health education helps to motivate individuals to accept a process of behavioral change by directing influencing their beliefs, values and attitude systems, while health promotion involves social, economic, and political change to make sure the environment is conducive to health. It is important that nurse should educate an individual based on his health need, but it is equally important for the nurse to play a role in trying to address the wider environmental and social …show more content…

The use of instructional materials in the teaching actually improves the performance of the students.
9. MOTIVATION
This is study was to investigate how medical and nursing staff of the largest public hospital in Cyprus, named Nicosia General Hospital. The motivational factors investigated were job attributes, remuneration, co-workers and achievement. 286 employees responded to the questionnaire, 67 doctors and 219 nurses.
The survey revealed that achievements were ranked as first among the four main motivators, followed by remuneration, co-workers, and job attributes. Achievement, which is an intrinsic factor, was the main motivator among doctors and nurses. The second highest ranked motivator overall was remuneration. The lowest ranked motivator overall was job attributes.
The results are in agreement with the literature which focuses attention to management approaches employing both monetary and non-monetary incentives to motivate healthcare professionals. Healthcare professionals tend to be motivated by intrinsic factors, so this should be target for effective employee motivation.
