With many different features similar to the famous Harry Potter films, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is a story of adventure and magic that did not meet the expectations that come with the Harry Potter association. “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” was directed by David Yates, who has directed 3 of the movies in the Harry Potter series. Yates has also produced a variety of short films and shows and holds the record for directing the most Harry Potter movies. One of the main differences between Yates and the majority of other directors is that Yates favors handheld cameras to tripods. It then transitions to a crowded transit center set in 1926 where we are first introduced to Newt. This resembles the opening scenes in multiple of the Harry Potter films where they opened on either the Ministry of Magic or at Kings Cross train station. The camera zooms in on a red-haired man wearing a long gray trench coat and carrying a large suitcase, Newt. The entire contents of the suitcase are animated with vivid colors and the beasts all look very realistic. The creators used many different types of lighting to convey the mood of what was happening. Inside the suitcase, most of the lighting was warmer colors, which worked with showing the beauty of the many different creatures. During some of the scenes that focused on the evil characters, the lighting was much more dark and gloomy. Colors were also used to distinguish certain characters between good and bad people. For example, Newt is the only character that has bright red hair. Red is a warmer color and is often associated with moral people, so it shows that Newt is one of the good characters. It also identifies Newt as the main character because it causes him to stand out. Another character that is distinguished by colors is the Obscurus, a magical thing that is a clear orb filled with floating black stuff. The Obscurus is a child, so the clearness of the orb represents the innocence of the child. However, it is still evil because it has the blackness inside of

In this story the good side always wins, this could be shown by the witches clothing. In darkness or blackness even the smallest white or light will shine through the darkness. Most readers can agree that they both have many grand similarities in their storylines. However, the three that stand out the most are the schools, antagonists, and protagonists contained in each work.

Very similar to the novel, where Jay Gatsby gains money from bad ways, while he could have gained it from good ways.
The exhibition I am designing uses a method of comparison, comparing real animals to mythical creatures. The intent is to arouse the imagination of the visitors in his or her personal journey of discovery, connecting with the real world to mythical creatures. Throughout my exhibition I will be providing detailed information of the real and mythical creatures. including where they are commonly found and live, their origin, and their physical attributes. giving audiences of all age groups a better understanding of the bizarre, powerful, and brave.
The lighting in this movie is very effective. It helps to establish the characters very well. The audience is helping in distinguishing the bad and the good characters through the lighting. The movie overall is very stylized. There are some other strange lighting patterns brought out by Hype Williams, but by far the most effective lighting patterns are ones that help to characterize the main players in the film.
Ever since J.K. Rowling first introduced Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1997, children and adults have read and loved the series. It has gained such popularity that all of the books have been made into major motion pictures, and a Harry Potter attraction has been opened in Universal Studios, Florida. Though the readers love Rowling’s intricate and exciting story lines, many controversies have arisen from these stories, not only in the United States, but also in various countries around the world. Perhaps the biggest controversy is the religious implications perceived by some critics. Although these critics believe that the series promotes paganism and encourages evil actions, these theories should not be taken so seriously.
The mood of this film is truly captured in the lighting and the lighting plays a key role in the accenting the humor of the film. “Deep inky blacks and desaturated colors that characterized the look of Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro’s Delicatessen” (McGrath). The dark nature of the film is maintained using lighting. This helps to set the mood for many scenes and is what provide the juxtaposition. In the few scenes of the film that are purely comedy the dark moody lighting helps to provide contrast to the humor and makes the character’s actions seem even more out of place and

Colors are an essential part of the world around us. They can convey messages, expressing that which words do not. Gentle blue tones can calm a person and bright yellows can lift the spirits. If an artist is trying to express sorrow or death he often uses blacks blues, and grays basically he uses dreary colors. Without one word, a driver approaching a red traffic light knows to stop. Colors are representative of many things. In his novel The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald uses color symbolism throughout as a major device in thematic and character development. He uses colors to symbolize the many different intangible ideas in the book. Throughout the book characters, places, and objects are given "life" by colors, especially the more prominent ones.
By using colors to symbolize characters, and objects he creates a better visual for the reader see in their own perception.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was written by J. K. Rowling and is the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series. The book is about a seventeen-year-old wizard, named Harry Potter, who has to travel all over England to find things that will help him defeat the evil wizard, Lord Voldomort. The main theme/moral of the entire series is good will always triumphs over evil. In every book, even when it looks like evil is going to win, good always triumphs in the end.
