It 's in 2011 in which J.K. Rowling 's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 has been released. The drama of on-screen action is tied together with a wonderfully composed score from Alexandre Desplat. It is in this movie in which dark times are all too common in the wizarding world and the composer must tie together the enchantment and elegance from the score the first three films that John Williams brought wonderful scores to. This film is considered to be the dramatic buildup to the ultimate conclusion of the J.K. Rowling series and has hopes of smashing box office records the world over. The scene in this film that I chose to do a music analysis of is the scene in which Harry
Potter and Heromione walk through the small town in which Harry Potter was born and where his family was murdered. They meet a woman that Harry identifies as knowing Dumbledore, the old head of Hogwarts who was murdered in a previous movie. It is in the house in which I begin my music analysis and until the scene is over, I am going to break down the music and changes throughout the scene. As background information is provided and the characters wonder around the flat, strings begin to play and the bass drum is struck a few times anticipating a build up of some sort. Shallowly in the background, you can hear the tension rising of the strings and the wind section. As Harry and Herrnoine roam the house, Harry meets the old woman again who begins to speak to him in parcel tongue. This is where the tension in the strings is ever so clear in the background.
