One of the most famous book and movie series is Harry Potter. They follow the life of a young wizard and his battle with a dark wizard named Lord Voldemort. Harry meets some friends and some foes along his journey one being Draco Malfoy. Draco and Harry quickly become rivals. Though they may be rivals there are many similarities and differences they share.
Harry James Potter is the main character. He was born to James and Lilly Potter a half-blood family. Half-bloods are families that have both wizard and muggle family members. When Harry was only a baby his parents died leaving him to live with his muggle Aunt's family the Dursley's. Harry and Malfoy come from families with bug reputations. Harry's father was a star Quidditch player, and mother was a star student. Draco's father is a known and feared Ministry of Magic worker and death eater, while his mother comes from the famous Black family. Even though they are in different houses they are both well respected and looked up to as strong leaders. Slytherins use their name, connections, and money to their advantage, while Gryffindors would rather succeed on their own (Blair). Also, they are on their house quidditch team as seakers. Though they may be rivals Harry and Draco save each other. When snatchers find Harry, Ron, and Hermione they are brought to Draco to be identified. Draco knows that it is Harry, but does not say so. When the room of requirement was on fire Harry saved Draco from the flames. This shows despite their differences they still care about one another. Both have a connection and mark from Lord Voldemort. When Harry first defeated Lord Voldemort a part of him went into to Harry and created a lighting bolt shaped scar on his forehead and a unique connection between the two. Draco follows in his father's footsteps and becomes a death eater and received the dark mark tattoo on his forearm. Then was chosen for a special mission by Lord Voldemort (Blair). Tom Riddle, AKA Lord Voldemort, was a half-blood prince known to be the most powerful dark wizard of all time. Riddle came from a wealthy muggle father Tom Riddle Senior and mother witch Merope Gaunt, who died shortly after Tom was born. Tom’s father left shortly after Merope found out she was expecting and left him the heir of Slytherin. Tom was raised in a muggle orphanage and when he became of age attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was placed in the Slytherin house, the most powerful house, and was the most talented student to ever attend Hogwarts. After Hogwarts Tom went on to work at Borgin and Burkes for a brief time before he disappeared for many years.
Harry has spent all summer waiting to hear news about Lord Voldemort, a evil wizard that Harry saw return the year before, but nobody believes him. One evening after listening to news ,he decides to go for a walk. He then sees his cousin, who he lives with and hates. They then get in a fight and Harry pulls out his wand and at that exact moment two dementors attack them. Dudley thinks Harry is attacking him so he punches Harry. Harry then heroically saves them both by producing a patronus and driving away the dementors.

The most prominent feature of Prince Harry in the two Henry1V plays is his absolute isolation. When we first see Harry, he is a pariah and outlaw among his own people, the nobility, and a source of fear and misery for his family. He has no friends in any real sense, just pawns; unlike Hotspur, Mortimer, and even Falstaff, he has no lovers and shows no interest in sexual love. He stands alone in the world, and he stands against all the world. He is motivated only by suspicion, cruelty, pride, and greed for power. People are real to Harry only in so far as he can use them; and, ultimately, the future King can use people only when they are destroyed. His every step is toward death and destruction: the two plays begin with Harry's plot against his tavern friends, which culminates in the sacrificial expulsion of Falstaff, and end with rumours of war, the campaign against France, carried out for reasons of internal political advantage. Harry is what today is commonly described as a psychopath, and the plays demonstrate how such a man can become a successful king and defeat the world, a perfect blend of Machiavel (the immoral villain) and Machiavellian (the amoral strategist).

Personal struggle develops character because it brings to light what a person will and will not do, allows them to find or develop talents, it creates an opportunity to alter their mindset, and the experience gained will stay with the individual forever.
Many have come to know and love the stories of Harry Potter, the boy who lived, but what most may not realize is that Harry Potter can have a bad influence on young children and adults. Though the Harry Potter series is a children’s book that is meant to enlighten the imagination of young viewers, it can be misguiding to those cannot comprehend the difference between imagination and real life. The beloved story of Harry Potter can have a negative influence on young children and adults for a variety of reasons.
Just to quickly run through the two previous books; Harry Potter is a wizard, who’s parents were killed by the worst dark wizard ever known. The reason why Harry Potter is still around, is because Lord Voldemort failed to kill Harry. His spell hit Harry, but then backfired on Voldemort taking all of his powers with him. Harry is so famous for two things. Withstanding the powers of Lord Voldemort, and, taking him back in to the underworld in hiding. In the first book, Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He’s eventually allowed to go, and spends the next six months there learning magic, getting into trouble, and trying to solve mysteries of his past, and the school. In the second book, Harry goes back to his second year at Hogwarts, and gets into more trouble, figures out many astonishing mysteries and learns loads more magic. His best friends in the two books consist of Ron and Hermione (two of his fellow wizard students) and Hagrid the gamekeeper who was expelled from Hogwarts but allowed a job as the gamekeeper.
Harry Potter and Jane Eyre are two novel characters who have quite a lot of similarities. In their early childhood, both were raised as orphans, both experienced cruelty and unkind treatment from relatives who were supposed to take care of them, both were given opportunity to study and live far away from the people who treated them harshly, and both of them had a life-changing experience in their respective schools.

Harry’s parents don’t really know how to raise a child. The spend thier days partying and drinking. Harry is mentally abused and pohysically abused. He has no real diet and the food that he eats he just has find it and whatever looks good he eats. He doesnt take life seriously because his parenst don’t take life seriously. Because of this Harry really doesnt know how to be a real child and how to act. He takes life as a joke and doesnt think that anything actually serious, and orginially he told everyone that his name was Bevel. When Harry arives at the river for his bapatism he meets a very strict preacer and Harry doesnt know how to talk to him, harry says,

In the Pardoner’s tale, Chaucer has death acting as a thief who would kill the ones that are doing wrong or harmful things (Lowell, Student Resources in Context). Later on in life, in J.K Rowling series Harry Potter, there was a similarity found. In the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a story told about three brothers who were tricked by death. Harry Potter starts off slow, but gets very interesting near the end. In the beginning, you meet the Dursleys, Harry’s aunt, uncle, and their son Dudley. Then you learn that Harry’s parents were witches, and that they were destroyed by a evil wizard. A good witch, Albus Dumbeldoor, sends Harry to the Dursleys, because they’re his only remaining family. The Dursleys however, hated Harry and his family, so Harry was mistreated for years. He was forced to live in a cuborrod under the stairs. He had to watch as the fat, stuck up Dudley got whatever he wanted, and then usually broke whatever it was he got. Then one day Harry got a letter.
This aspect of Harry’s low esteem and lack of identity makes him doubtful and confused. Unfortunately, Harry’s father and mother had been murdered by the evil Wizard, Lord Voldemort. In this family life, Harry is future victimized by the selfishness of Uncle Vernon and his wife. These domestic experiences in the “real world” are grim, as they often involve Harry’s struggle with Uncle Vernon. In this way, Uncle Vernon prevents him realizing his true identity as the son of a famous “pure-blood” wizard. For example, Uncle Vernon prevents Harry from seeing letters from a mysterious writer that seeks to know his
the bad. The main characters on the good side are Harry Potter and his two friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and on the bad the main character is Lord Voldomort. Harry Potter is a courageous, brave, and kind person. The whole series revolves around Harry Potter and Lord Voldomort. Ron Weasley is Harry’s closest friend and is not always the brightest but he is a good person who always stands with Harry no matter the situation. Hermione Granger is a book worm, straight A student who turns every assignment in on time and always does whatever her teachers tell her to do, and because of her skill and knowledge she has helped the trio out of several tight situations. Lord Voldomort is the most evil of the evil. His goal is to rule the world, kill every muggle (non magical people) so that only wizards are left and, most importantly, to conquer death. Through out the entire series Voldomort has tried to kill Harry a total of eight times but has failed all because of his short-sightedness and un-willingness to admit to his weaknesses.
