What makes up a good story? This essay discusses that short stories are better than other stories because they’re short, characters, and theme. The characters job is to put it simply a character is any person, animal, or creature in a story. A themes job is the main idea or an underlying meaning of a literacy work that may be stated directly or stated indirectly. Short stories job is a story with a really good theme but but isn’t as long as other stories. Some examples of short stories are “the most dangerous game” also the short story “Harrison Bergeron” I think that short stories are good because they’re not that long and it wont take me a year. In the previous paragraph I stated what theme is and now in this paragraph. im going to give you examples of theme. So a theme for survival is man vs. nature, a theme for power is the search for, the loss of, what are we willing to exchange it for. A theme for courage is courage to deal with conflict, lack of, developing, conquering with. So im guessing you get the hang of what theme actually is. Some people may say that characters don’t matter in a story but how would it be a story without any characters. Also if you don’t have a theme then whats the moral of the story whats the lesson. But of course you need characters that’s what make stories good also that’s what get peoples attention for a good example, I read a book about a cepan which is basically there parent but he ended up dying which made me sad because they make you so attached to a character. And sorry for the spoiler. And without a theme how are you supposed to know what it was for like some books are usually don’t give up, or curiosity killed the
