We live in a civilization where so very few people h... ... middle of paper ... ...f their lives or even leading to their deaths. People become so addicted to the accomplishments in virtual form that they start to have no interest in their own lives. Rather than these people going out and finding new jobs or improving their own reality, they stay on the video game and continue to throw away time and real money on a virtual life for them. The examples that I gave are only in the severe cases that don't happen too often but do in fact occur. Video games along with other technology in the modern day causes a distraction among adults and the youth.
Furthermore, the web also impacts our memory as we take for granted the easy access to information, making search engines our personal transactive memories. This as the indirect effect of inflating our self-estimate of knowledge, although the information is not physically in stored in our brain. Lastly, the internet through social medias and applications pushes towards more insubstantial multitasking which affect our brain’s capacity to think and study properly, ultimately affecting our academic performance. These impacts of the internet can be seen in my personal life through self-reflection. As I spend more and more time on my phone reading multiple web articles, I do not take the time to truly read a book anymore.
To be more specific, video game addicts tend to be more proactive in their imaginary world than in real life. They’d rather get engaged to their online relationship than face to face, and by all those, they invisibly isolated themselves out of the society. Spending most of their time on it, video game addicts rarely care about their self-hygiene and have less time to spend on their work and their social life which may possibly head them to the crash in their position at work as well as finance. Moreover, it... ... middle of paper ... ...hanges in neurological in people would also be reduced. Besides, since video game addiction is the main cause of time and money consuming in most of children and teenagers, parents should pay more attention on them because in anyway, it will negatively affect their future what is one of the most important factors that contributes to the economic status of a country.
Despite that the technology has been invented to develop ourselves and to make our lives better and easier, however the people have abused the use of technology specifically the youth. One of the most common disadvantages for the technology but nowadays is the dependency, because the more advance society becomes technologically, the more people begin to depend on computers and other and other forms of technology for everyday existence. This means that when a machine breaks or a computer crashes, human become almost disabled until the problem is resolved. This kind of dependency on technology puts people at a distinct disadvantage, because they become less self
“Typically, the concern about our dependence on technology is that it detracts from our time with family and friends in the real world,” (Parker-Pope). Further advances are constantly being made to technology and this can be an issue in the future. Technology has led to many discoveries and breakthroughs that are now easily recorded on online educational websites. However it has made plagiarism easier and makes people more dishonest. The reason I say t... ... middle of paper ... ...her on Facebook than study for an important exam, and then they would fail or make a lower grade on it.
That could be good or bad; it just depends on what it is being used for. People are living an unhealthy lifestyle, because technology has captured the minds of people. Which, then, turns into technology becoming addictive, and changing our brains. Technology can be used for good. Do not sit all day watching television or messing around on computers.
But data security is an issue. The apps you download and the passwords that you input into these apps and websites while on-the-go are often not secure, at least in terms of account privacy. This means that Internet access on an insecure network puts you at risk of identity theft and hacked accounts. Distraction- Smartphones are distracters, which keep consumers off-task. With a device that fits into your pocket and is able to accomplish so much, it's only natural that you're constantly checking email, sports scores, text messages, Facebook and browsing the Web.
This is also a real easy but bad situation to get into. For instance, if someone has a credit card that can only spend as much that is in their account, they can buy and buy until their account has nothing in it, then they realize they also have bills to pay and have to wait until the next payday. Indiscriminate spending is not the only way the internet and technology are taking over. The dependency of technology is ruining face to face communication. Face to face communication is fading beca... ... middle of paper ... ...the people who can barely talk to someone face to face because they are so use to being on the computer all the time or on the phone all the time.
It is also proven that too much technology including video games, or violent cartoons can cause your child to have behavioral problems. Technology has made many aspects of life much easier. However, society revolves around the flashing screen of computers and other technological sources like smart phones and tablets. For example, dating, Many people all over the world have had failed relationships and have nearly given up, causing them to turn to the internet to find a significant other. Today, it is unfathomable to go even 24 hours without accessing the internet.
As technology advances, people become more and more attached to their phones and detached from real life. Now that people can text, call, tweet, and post from anywhere they are, that’s all some people seem to do. Many psychologists worry eventually addictions to our cell phones will have lasting effects on the way we communicate with each other face-to-face. Some worry we will become a society that never even talks face-to-face. There’s no doubt that we have become a society dependent on our cell phones and it’s killing our social skills, but this problem can be stopped before it goes too far.
