1.5.1. STATEMENT OF RESEARCH PROBLEM:- “Research always starts with a question and problem. Its purpose is to find answer to question through the application of scientific method. It is a systematic and intensive study directed towards a more complete knowledge of the subject studied.” - Blankenship and Dofe
There are several studies conducted at various time periods to list out the problems of the handloom industry. But all the studies were done to keep the concept of Cooperative Society, Weaver and Master Weaver in mind.
This study is an attempt to study the Handloom Industry from the Producers perspective and Consumers perspective and find out the root cause of problem and try to focus in formalization of a marketing strategy which can …show more content…

To Study the satisfaction of consumers of handloom industry.
The Problem of Handloom Industry need to be studied from various angles as stated below.
1. Production Related Problems :- The industry is facing various problems which are related to the production of handloom goods. The problems can be related to Raw Material ,Equipments , Governments interference on what to produce and where to produce, related to transport etc.
2. The Demand Related Problem:- From business point of view the problems related to the marketing of the goods produced need to be studied. The 4 Ps of marketing whether applied by the industry or not . If applied whether the strategy is accepted or discarded by the market. What are the customer related variables and what need to be done to get the product sold in the market. Whether the industry is successful in selling the goods. Whether there is demand research on what is expected by the consumer or market or not etc.
3. Marketing Related Problems:- The Marketing related problems are many specially in case of handloom industry and be a part or total subject of research . It is true that the Handloom industry has a rich heritage but the products are being marketed properly or not is a matter of …show more content…

Social Angle of The Whole Problem or The Study of Social angle of Handloom Industry:- The handloom industry is second largest generation of employment in our Country after Agriculture. The industry is a house hold industry generating employment in Rural Areas. It means that the industry has a VOTE BANK having common interest. This vote bank have forced the policy makers to keep a soft eye towards the industry or having interest in the Handloom Weavers.
