"Dark Thoughts of Halloween at the Jane Roof Top Bar" (Fiction) Tentative title. The strange atmosphere was so thick at the Jane that one would need a butcher knife to cut through it Tonight was Halloween. It was eerily quiet....except for the glib talk of the small crowd of bohemian patrons. They casually talked about the holiday All Hallowed Eve. Auntie Carol mentioned she believed in reincarnation. That she was in a past life a Titanic victiim. That notion she confided in her friend made her think of herself as wanting to always come up for air

Top part of her evening gown to the bottom of her breast was done in the most intricate brocade that resembled songbirds all a flutter On her neck were 1910s style diamond necklace with chunks of jewels of white brilliance. Attached to the necklace were more diamonds with one of them dangling centrally down. Her pearl hued elbow length fancy gloves went well with her dress. Her curly hair was in a topknot that showed off her soft dove like eyes. Her features were pert. Her male companion was the height of fashion for that era. On his head was a black stovepipe hate. His hair was dark brown, parted in the middle. His "Arrow" style starched collar complemented so dashingly his vested suit and matching navy suit …show more content…
Hearing what her colleague said made Lady Lynda feel in deep bad humor. Her heart began to palpate. It was too early to tell what would happen next. Where were they leading her? Could she escape in time?
Soon within minutes Auntie Carol found out. The female apparition pointed to the clock. "The time will quickly pass. You will find yourself as if surrounded by cold icy water. Then there will be peace. Then you are going to be as before but with a knowledge you never knew.

"Auntie Carol" my poor dear. What happened?!!! Auntie Carol gleefully replied. " My nightmare is finally ended. I'm free from a burden that affected me all my life. I finally faced my fears. Free at last. No more nightmares of the Titanic as Poe would of said for ever
This dress features trimming with a silk polychrome fly fringe. It compares to the size of an adolescent. It is quite small in size and has sharp angles among the waist, hips, and shoulder areas. The structure of the gown is what some may consider traditional. While the front of the dress has a dip near the chest area the back has a long cape that extends to the ground. The fabric is rather thick and matte. There is various pleating that adorns the ends of the sleeves, the cape, and the hips. At the front of the gown there is cross-hatching in the stitching at the waist. The gown features one main fabric with various colors and patterns. The fabric has a light blue background with cream-colored leaf shapes. There are also olive-green leafs and maroon (white) flowers printed on the
"Her collars and cuffs were white organdy trimmed with lace and at her neckline she had pinned a purple spray of cloth violets containing a sachet. In case of an accident, anyone seeing her dead on the highway would know at once that she was a lady" (O'Conner 138).
Most people are very convinced that they will recognize a ghost right away when they see one. The portrayal of ghosts in movies and ghost stories has set initial expectations of ghosts’ appearances and behaviors. However, people do not have the ability to recognize ghosts promptly when they encounter them. After all, as Michael Cox and R.A. Gilbert mentioned, ghosts are just dead people that remain in our memories and that we have no choice but to learn to live with their continuing presence (1). If people’s minds are preset on the fact that they are able to identify ghosts immediately, they will miss out on key opportunities to learn about important values in the long term through the presence of ghosts. Since ghosts are dead people, they have lived in the past; they know about history and what values are most important. Therefore, in “Afterward”, Edith Warton deliberately depicts the ghost as something that one does not recognize until long after to prove that dishonesty among family members causes the death of the family relationship.

I can’t hold in my excitement as I run to the foyer. Mom looks at me worriedly, but I ignore her and throw open the door before the person standing behind it can knock. He looks at me with boredom lacing his expression, obviously expecting my weird gift to tell the future. I quickly hug him and grab his pale hand, pulling him outside. Tonight is Halloween, and the only time my pale blonde friend visits me. He’s my first and only friend, so I don’t mind that he doesn’t play with me the other three hundred sixty-something days in the year.
“People give up the ghost with delicacy and taste inside the hospital. There was none of that crude, ugly ostentation about dying that was so common outside the hospital. They did not blow up in mid air like Kraft or the dead man in Yossarian’s tent, or freeze to death in the blazing summer time the way Snowden had frozen to death after spilling his secret to Yossarian in the back of the plane. “I’m cold, Snowden had whimpered. I’m cold.” “There, there”, Yossarian had tried to comfort him. There, there.” They didn’t take it on the lamb weirdly inside a cloud the way Clevinger had done. They didn’t explode into blood and clotted matter.”
Growing up Margaret was told many interesting and intriguing stories explaining who her Great Aunts and other family members were. During the evening, after dinner, her mother would sit down and read out the letters that her two sisters would send from “home”. Until one day, her grandfather had a coronary (more than one) and could die at any moment, so her and her family went to Nova Scotia to visit them. It was a long

She was so excited that she wanted to tell Margaret about it. She found the door shut and she opened the door and thought of waking her up with joy. But then she changed her plan because if she would tell her about this news, Margaret would think she is the most unlucky woman on earth. She had the same feelings as Margaret that she cancelled her idea to deliver this news, and left it on the next day.
it was a cold breezy Halloween night the sun was just about to go down and I’m Waiting on the front porch in my nerd Halloween costume which consist of white high waisted shorts with a plaid orange and red button down and suspenders to top it all off I put on big glasses and two pigtails. waiting for my friend Kalia to pick me up I put on my headphones and started to listening to an old song by Beyonce ,about ten minutes later, my Kalia and her mom pull up in a light blue mustang as I approached the car I noticed she decided to be a Regina George from mean girls with a pink shirt that says we wear pink on Wednesday a with a pink skirt and a pink camisole. My other friend Taylor, who is also Kalias cousin came dressed as the star from clueless she had a plaid yellow jacket with matching skirt and a white shirt underneath. Halloween night is when ghouls and goblins rom the streets, the wolves howl at the moon, and you hear the laughter of witches flying around in the night sky, but that's only people in costumes. Every night on October 31st you will see kids as young as 9 months to adults as old as 80 dressed in costumes that range from angels to some that dress as people's nightmares. The month of Halloween some decorate their houses as scary as they can with flicking noises of their front porch light that casts over the freshly cut pumpkin that lies on the foot of the stairs, while you hear the stomping of little kids running house to house getting candy and the yelling of parents telling them to slow down. But why do we do this every year more excited than
Two weeks after her father’s funeral, our protagonist Annie sees his ghost in her bathroom. Knowing he is dead, they small talk about her boyfriend, their farm, their deceased family etc. until he suddenly vanishes. Her father makes occasional appearances after that. They keep talking about everyday life until one night at the Opera House, where she not only sees her father, but her brother and mother as well. Knowing where to find them, she takes her goodbye with her dead family.
I’m sure I will never forget that day; the day of her funeral. The smooth, polished-mahogany wood of her casket, the eerily peaceful expression on her face, and the rose-scented perfume thick enough to taste in your lungs. If I looked to my left, I’d see the bouquet of flowers which too ironically reflected the current livelihood of the person they were honoring. Looking to my right, I saw the dozens of people who added to the monotonous wailing that invaded my ears: these things, they have been archived into my memory forever.
"You know, I noticed that I'm always the one giving out compliments. You never compliment me," I said and backtracked when I listened to my words. I sounded like a desperate girlfriend.
The date is 31st October 2003, also known as Halloween. Three friends, Tommy, Landon and Cassandra have planned to go trick or treating. They wanted to try something new this year. They have been friends for a long time, and they always go trick or treating in the same neighborhood. It had always been a great neighborhood to trick or treat, but as the years gone by the decorations are very familiar. This year Landon got his driver's license and he got permission to borrow their car for Halloween. They have heard about this amazing place with decorations so scary and so realistic that it felt like a horror movie. There was a catch though, they would have to drive for one hour through the cornfields. They decided it was worth it and started driving.
