There are some individuals who are innocent and a due to difficult circumstances, they become criminals. Firearms cannot be used by its own sake; the only way they can kill, is by an individual holding the trigger; because it is people that kill people. Gun leads to violence and gives power to others. Every single state, within the United States should advocate to create more laws that can restrict in some way the use of firearms to prevent the increasing rate of gun violence across the country. We as citizens need to understand that guns are not for everyone to use.
People don’t respect the gun laws we already have in affect. The laws should be stricter because countless tragic massacres and murders are happening. Guns are meant to be in the possession of people with a license that took test to have them. However, many guns are being sold and exchanged illegally. That’s how we get guns in our community and people in gangs and drug dealers get them into their hands.
Guns are recurrent in the news, as more and more cases of tragic public shootings and school massacres are being reported. These weapons separate the United States of America into those who own these unnecessary weapons and those who are vulnerable to this twisted society. Organisations like the National Rifle Association, or the NRA, support these easily preventable butcherings because they believe it is a ‘right’ to bear arms. But is it? Guns make America an unsafe country, with most individuals living in fear.
Some people don’t think this amendment is still significant. Many journalists and reporters mislead people about gun facts and gun violence, thus, scaring the public from owning guns. It is important that our country’s second amendment does not get infringed upon for the major reasons of self-defense and for the safety of society as a whole. The American public is very misinformed by the media about gun violence in serious crimes and deaths. Listening to the television and radio, one would be under the impression that gun violence is a major killer of Americans.
If the government continues to make laws against guns, the results could be bad. People will revolt, then we could have a civil war on our hands. Many people believe that the guns can and should be in the hands of the people who want them for protection and sport. Criminals will go to any lengths to get their weapons needed to perform a crime, that’s why they are criminals they break laws, they don’t follow them. The government is hoping to take control of these assault style weapons and keep them from the common people, but these weapons aren’t what crimes are being committed with.
What’s sad is that, all the blames went to the guns, not the shooters, but the guns! The government and the media kept giving out the wrong information to our society. They made guns the enemy in the public’s eyes, but in reality it’s the shooters state of mind. Recently, the Obama administration and the government leaders are trying to pass laws pertaining to gun control. They believe that by doing this, crimes would perish, and the wounds of the victims would mend; but they’re wrong.
There are so many people getting way out of control with the way they use guns. Many people misuse guns in so many ways. It would be better if the gun penalty laws were tightened, that way the criminals, drug users and anyone who misuses guns won’t be able to use guns anymore. People do not understand that guns are supposed to be used for hunting, trapping, and police forces. “Guns have been frequently used for violent crimes, suicides and mishaps” (ProQuest Staff.
Overall, the U.S has become an unsafe environment for American citizens, where its death rate is ten times higher than any other developed nations. Nowadays, Congress has not come up with a solution for these issues. In order to prevent the violence and to reduce the death rates, laws must establish to set restrictions on the background check and gun ownerships. United states, consider as the world’s most dangerous country, where has a lot of people died from gun crimes. Many people became afraid of having the wrong hand guns which can lead them to lose relatives or a friends. American history has shown how the guns can use in many crimes, such as the cases in the Charleston church shooting in North Carolina, Aurora shooting in Colorado, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut, and the 2009 Fort Hood shooting in Texas. Those crimes showed that how guns are dangerous in United States which is also
According to Garen Wintemute, “An estimated 478,422 firearm-related violent crimes occurred in 2011, including 11,101 homicides.” ( Wintemute 249.) This is a strong fact, just look at those numbers all those crimes were committed by people with the use of firearms. The numbers are high, and soon it will be even higher and that’s for sure. So the people must prevent this they should do something that will put an end to this rising numbers on firearm- related
