In the United States, many citizens have been killed by assault rifles. There are many issues that the Congress of the United States should solve immediate because innumerable people have been brutally killed by guns and assault weapon. Numerous innocent victims have suffered physical and emotional pain. Therefore, the Congress should modify the 2nd Amendment since innocent citizens have been murdered by assault weapons throughout the past decades. The federal government must pass gun control laws that limit the right of people to own assault rifles since many citizens can endanger civilians; the Congress should make brutal laws to purchase an assault weapon, and only the military and the law enforcement officer can use the assault rifles. …show more content…

Terrorists have taken advantage of the 2nd Amendment. Moreover, they can buy assault rifles without any control and regulations. In contrast, many states do not have background check and terrorist such as ISIS members are beneficial of the second Amendment. According from the website, The WhiteHouse.org:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is overhauling the background check system to make it more effective and efficient. The envisioned improvements include processing background checks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and improving notification of local authorities when certain prohibited persons unlawfully attempt to buy a gun. The FBI will hire more than 230 additional examiners and other staff to help process these background checks.
This citation blazons that the background checks will be reinforced and stricter. The FBI will know everything about a person that wants to buy a fire arm. If there is something suspicious about the person, they might not be able to purchase the fire arm. Furthermore, many other politicians and law enforcement agencies continue to push for federal legislation to control the sale, ownership, and use of assault rifles by non-military civilians. Without a gun control law to reduce gun deaths, this can build a lot of tension on whether the United States is a safe place to live in. Reputedly, many innocent people die from people that bear a firearm. As stated in Procon.org, “There were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013: 270,237 suicides (58.2% of total deaths); 174,773 homicides (37.7%); and 9,983 unintentional deaths (2.2%)”. Regrettably, this information exhibits that guns have had a huge impact on the amount of deaths in a certain amount of years.
