Guide to the Metagame and Prediction This is a guide to the Omega Metagame. It is NOT for looking up BM strategies or Livebattle movesets. Introduction: Competitive Pokemon Alright, I guess you want to know: what is the Metagame? Simply put, the Metagame is the competitive part of Pokemon, ranging from tournaments to... tournaments. This is a guide on basically how to WIN, and how do it consistently. Competitive Pokemon first started in 1996, when the game first came out. Most casual fans picked up the games and went through it, enjoying the adventure and thrill of their first Pokemon journey. However, certain players saw strategies, combinations of moves, typing, and mechanics that led to a higher level of gameplay. Eventually, different rankings for Pokemon (tiers) were set up, Ubers being the highest (Mewtwo, for example), and OU (OverUsed) for more common but powerful Pokemon, such as Alakazam or Starmie. The Metagame basically described the competitive field for any RPG, ranging from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Vanguard, and numerous other games. The Metagame for Omega is very unique, and some opinions might be arguable, but this guide will help you, whether you are a beginner, a longtime pro, or a troll seeking to make fun of me. Switching One concept many casual players who start competitive play struggle to understand is switching. In the DS games, the AI trainers don’t switch out. They just keep their Pokemon in until you kill them. Against a real opponent, they WILL switch out to a Pokemon that has an advantage to yours. The fortunate thing is, if they switch, so can you. If you have an Infernape out against a Swampert, are you just going to sit there while Infernape does nothing... ... middle of paper ... ...s, bar Flying/Levitate immunity. What this fact means is that it is very risky using Pokemon weak to Ground, that Pokemon immune to it basically automatically have good typing on Omega, and that you should run some Electric and Ice moves. Conclusion] Well, this is the end. I hope you had an enjoyable journey with this guide, and that you learned some new things. If you didn't, you are free to comment on why I suck, which I would prefer you not doing, but hey, it’s a free world. If you have nice comments however, I would definitely appreciate them. Suggestions to adding stuff is also appreciated. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to PM me. ~ Darkream *All information in this guide is relevant Pokemon Omega, which has a unique Metagame.
