Guernseys vs. Jerseys
Did you know that Guernsey and Jersey cows are way different from the original breed standards? That may make no sense to most people, but these cattle have changed a lot over the years. Did you know that even though they are just “cows,” they differ in many ways? For example, did you know that Guernsey cattle used to be a small breed of cattle? People have been breeding them skywards for 50 years trying to make them a larger breed of cow.
Again, the Guernsey and Jersey are very different animals but have tons of similarities. For example the Guernsey normally has pink skin and “satanic” eyes. The satanic eyes are in reference to the rectangular pupil. And Jerseys have darker skin which appears to be a blue-black mix. They also have rectangular pupils, but the demonic, shivering effect is lessened because they normally have almost pure black eyes. Appearance is everything when it comes to the Guernsey and Jersey. Guernseys are gold and white, and Jerseys are solid shades of brown or black.
Even though appearance is everything, the milk is also an important factor. Guernseys are known as “Golden Guernseys” because of their color and rich, fat-filled milk, which has a surplus of beta carotene, which can help prevent certain cancers. On the other hand, Jerseys have a very high butterfat content, which is perfect for making butter. Their milk is also fairly rich before it gets processed. Most people, however, cannot obtain un-processed milk easily.
Guernseys and Jerseys also differ in height. Although they are just “cows,” they are all different. They very in size, and quite a bit. Guernseys can be up to six feet tall and one thousand and five hundred pounds. On the other hand, Jerseys are a measly fou...

The Jersey cow originated in England in the late 1700's. They were bred in to existence by English farmers on the island of Jersey. And shockingly, the Guernsey cattle originated on the island of Guernsey, England. The Guernsey was first recognized as a breed in the 1700's. And originated some years before.
Both breeds of cows are excellent decisions when it comes to milking or showing. They both have their ups and downs and special perks, such as cancer preventing milk and high butter-fat content milk. From gold to brown, with satanic and non satanic eyes, these cattle have a wide range of appearance. And they may just be “cows,” but they are much more than that. Even if they were once small cows, they are still just “cows,” but that’s why they are so amazing
Hatcher Family Dairy was established in 1831 and the Hatcher’s have been milking cows ever since. Throughout most of Hatcher Family Dairy’s history, milk produced on the farm was sold to a milk cooperative owned by farmers. The milk cooperative would transport the Hatcher’s raw milk from the farm to a processing plant where it was processed along with milk from other farms. Ultimately, all the milk processed by the milk cooperative comingled and was sold under various brand names to groceries stores.
Ranchers with ten cows who work in town and have oil wells on their land are what I like to call the “Hobby Ranchers”. Many of these types reside in the Oklahoma area. There are a few scattered from state to state; however, many reside in the Sooner State. For these ranchers, cows are nothing but a hobby. They do not care

In the irish Cinderlad the bull comes against a different bull, says he will die, tells the kid to cut off its tail was the bull has died, and does. It seems like in in Norway the cows can indore more than in Ireland.
Contestants arrive at the arena an hour before the performance to draw the calf each will be roping. A large pen of calves is assembled, each calf branded with a different number. Corresponding numbers are placed in a hat and each cowboy draws his calf for the first go-around. There is always some cowboy who knows what rodeo string these particular calves are from and can discuss some trait of nearly all of them. For example, " number 16 breaks hard and heads straight to the far end of the arena. Number 8 will break hard but tends to veer sharply right on nearly every run. Number 21 breaks slow and many a good horse has run right past him".

Cattle have been a part of the American history since the first settlers established colonies from the eastern hemisphere. Today, there are countless breeds of cattle which have been developed throughout the centuries. Charolais, Limousin, and Angus cattle are a few of the breeds known for their beef production in America. Holstein and Jersey cows make up the majority of dairy production. It is common to find many small family farms across the country with at least one dairy cow to supply their daily milk and other products. The hide of cattle can also be tanned, and used for leather products such as clothes, sporting equipment, and a variety of thi...
Speed, in a word, or, in the industry’s preferred term, “efficiency.” Cows raised on grass simply take longer to reach slaughter weight than cows raised on a richer diet, and for a half a century now the industry has devoted itself to shortening a beef animal’s allotted span on earth… what gets a steer from 80 to 1,100 pounds in fourteen months is tremendous quantities of corn, protein and fat supplements, and an arsenal of new drugs. Cows are presented by dairy companies as happy going animals raised in pastors to run free with loving farmers, although this may be true for small farmers who are organic, this image of free cows roaming free is little to being true for most companies with packaged milk that you see at your local grocery store. Wangnet Valerie says “Most of our dairy products milk come from manufactured farming where most cows live up there whole life indoors and are crammed into crates where they are unable to move and while female cows are milked until they become too weak to stand, at which point they are promptly trucked out to be killed.” Cows are not only milked till point of exhaustion but they are either naturally or artificially inseminated in order to bread for more production of female cows to continue milk production. While these cows are giving birth, the calf’s are taken away so that the famers and manufactures can get the milk that the mother cow has produced for her offspring instead of the providing some to the calf. In the film earth links by Phoenix, it showed the way baby cows are placed in small crammed areas and tied up so that they may not lay down or move these baby cows are feed a liquid diet that doesn’t provide the baby cows with the sufficient amount of nutrients that are need for the growth and development but instead are given something that merely keeps them alive. Also these dairy cows are not only abused physically and emotionally but these cows are also given antibiotics and certain medication to increase milk production which leads these cows to a painful bacterial infection causing a cow’s udder to swell and mastitis. Which then lead to high levels of antibiotics being injected into these cows we are consuming antibiotics daily form not only the meat but the dairy. Suchayan Chowdhury wrote an article on the her finding of levels of antibiotics she found

project in Zurich. From the North Michigan Avenue Business Association, the “cow” idea found its way to the Department of Cultural Affairs . This is how it all started. Sponsors commissioned artists, and the cows were on their way.
In "The Cowboy and His Cow" speech, Edward Abbey delivered a furious talk based on his personal experience.Abbey began by talking about the childhood dream of becoming a cowboy, so consistently I expected him to write about how and why the cowboy is a child's legendary hero and how a child idolizes them for all the kindness they appear to do. Instead, Abbey began tearing down the praised cowboy by making the people realize the issues that the cowboys and their cattle have brought.
Cows are naturally very gentle and calm creatures. These smart and sweet natured animals have been known to go to great lengths to escape slaughterhouses. More than forty-one million of these sensitive animals suffer and die a painful death each year in the United States. When cows are still very young they are burned with hot irons, there testicles are torn or cut off, all without painkillers. Most beef cattle are born in one state, live in another, and are slaughtered in another. The cows who survive the gruesome transportation process are shot in the head with a bolt gun, hung upside down by there legs, and taken onto the killing floor where there throats
