Us students at Mosinee Middle School have all grown up in a quite small town. I believe that most of us growing up small town is what turned us into the strong, thriving community that we are today, and that it has created lots of the geniuses of the past and present. There are many opinions on the better place to grow up, but I think the best place of all is in a small town. My first and most important reason of thinking small towns are better is that stress is a minimal. In smaller towns there are less people to start rumors or say bad things about others. Growing up on the south side of Chicago in the roughest neighborhood in the city I learned a lot from others and just observing my surroundings. At times, I would always think to myself my situation could always be worse than it was, and that there is always someone who is doing worst off than me. But my situation turned from being in a bad position to being in a position where my mother would come to lose her mother and our home that we had been living in, all in the same year. After losing her mother and bother my mom lost herself in her emotions and shut down on everyone and with that came the loss of a home for me and my siblings and her job. Shortly after my mom began to go back to church and so did we. It was the first time in a log time that we had attended church and it played a big part in a learning experience for me and my siblings. Through the days that came to pass going to church sparked a desire of wanting to help others who had or are struggling to get by. My mentor, Pastor, and teacher deserves appreciation for helping my mother through a hard time and keeping me and my siblings active in a positive manor.
The temperature dropped to a frigid ten degrees fahrenheit with a -15 degree wind chill factor in Title Town. The only thing easily seen in the fog was my teammate’s and the thousands of spectator’s breath hovering in the air like a ghost. The championship game was set to start in 15 minutes. Is it a coincidence that highly urbanized areas are full of crime and always statistically higher than small towns and rural areas? A child that is being brought up in a metropolitan area that is full of violent crimes is flooded in a sense and has nothing to do but to breath in some of the negative influences that go on around him. Therefore, I believe that the most influential scene in a child’s life is the neighborhood that he grows up in. Parents cannot constantly watch over their children, ask about whom they are hanging out with, constantly check where they are, and find out what they are getting themselves into? (Statistics p348)
My friends in New Orleans are the complete opposite. Most of them are scam proof and don’t fall for any tricks. They are tough and have had to deal with bad people all their lives. In city-life I find there isn’t as much loyalty to each other as in a small town. Most people in a city are usually looking out for themselves and people they care about and usually nothing else matters.
Living and growing up in a small town is better than doing so in a big city.
There are many benefits to living in a big city. These places usually offer great employment opportunities and various forms of entertainment. There are movie theaters, shopping malls, and restaurants, all within walking distance of one another. These cities are also home to hundreds of thousands of people. These people live in tiny apartments or small houses, separated by only a few feet. Although they have many things available to them, city life can become stressful and overbearing. Life in the country offers more privacy, peace, and safety. Many people are starting to realize that the comforts of country living outweigh the benefits of city life.

I’ve finally made it. When you first land here the immediate difference is all around you whizzing around you creating a sense of life. It 's a sense that you rarely have in a small town it 's bigger I can’t quite obtain a hold of it. It moves fast all through the night and during the day. It peaks in all of my senses to create a brand new sense of the life of the city.
One major issue affecting many people trying to make the decision on where to live is their quality of life in either extreme. Health, education, transportation are three major concerns that many consider. In a city, pollution surrounds you wherever you step whether on the streets of a busy financial district or on the lawn of a large park. Pollution could possibly cause health problems later in life. In the country, pollution is scarce. Fresh air, rolling green hills, a few pieces of litter here and there but pretty much everything is clean, and wow! No smog, you can see the stars! In the country, childhood education, kindergarten through twelfth grade, is significantly better than in a large city; smaller class sizes and larger budgets create excellent learning environments. In cities, public schools are often plagued with very large classes packed into small spaces. Teachers with low pay, and little or no dedication are thrown into classrooms to teach, resulting in poor education. Transportation is very accessible in city environments. Public transportation, by way of subways, busses and ferries, are cheap and easy ways of getting around a metropolis, whether going out to work, school, or for a night on the town. In the country, everyone needs to have access to his or her own vehicle. A commute to work or school is about an average of forty-five minutes!
The advantage of life in an Urban city is more jobs, convenient travel to facilities example hospital, clinics and entertainment. Urban cities have a vast growth in the economy, closer to higher education, inner city transportation, social assimilation, culturalism, and diversity among the urban population. Growing industrialization for watercrafts, steel, oil, and textile. Urban living like suburban living has positive and negative characteristics. The homes found in urban areas are primarily lower class. The absence of extra money creates an environment with more crime and run-down neighborhoods. In inner cities, the homes are found feet from each other. Since people live so close together, it causes the environment to be more disruptive and creates a less peaceful atmosphere. Having neighbors so close by in dangerous neighborhoods can also be a safety feature. It is easier to get help in emergencies if your neighbors are nearby. This may influence a person's decision on living in urban areas.
