Summary During this week’s group session the focal point was trying to figure out how we could come to a resolution with all parties involved but also to make sure that Jose is back in school receiving an education. Our group discussed all the difficulties that would be involved with trying to come to a compromise but felt like it was possible by starting with having both, Jose and the school tell us what they would like from each other. We then discussed what tasks would help us achieve our goal and if it was a real situation, which of us would be responsible for completing those task.

You may not understand something but one of your group members can phrase it different or tell you what they got from the problem and that may help you understand it. Groups also help stimulate conversation because it helps you build off someone else’s thoughts. When listening to the other members speak, you may realize that you agree or disagree, which will create more conversation.
This session helped me realize how valuable groups can be.
Conclusion
According to Toseland, motivation is the key to a successful group (p. 217) and as a whole, we were not motivated at first. As our leader, Brianna did a good job reminding us all that we all had logs do (that was our main motivation) and then as we got deeper into the case study, we were more into it than I thought we would be. This session helped me appreciate how beneficial working in groups could be. This session made me realize how important it is to have groups for motivational purposes. Knowing that everyone was feeling drained made me participate more because I knew it was going to take everyone’s input since we were all feeling the same way. As a team, we were able to help each other get through the case study and discuss what we would need to do to help
