When a teacher favors a student the student is called the “teacher’s pet,” but what do you call a teacher who is favored by a student? Would they be called a student’s pet? Whether you’re the teacher’s pet or not everyone knows students has their own list of favorite teachers from when they were younger. The reasons why or how a teacher might end up on that list can go on forever. It might be because it was an easy class and the teacher let them do whatever they wanted or because the teacher actually sat down with them and took the time to get to know them and encourage them to improve themselves as much as possible. The possibilities are endless. I have a handful of teachers that are my all time favorite teachers. A few of them just happen to be my ag teachers in high school Brent Haken, Brad Chapman, and Scott Schaefer. My other favorite teacher was my junior English teacher and my Fine Arts teacher Shandi Treat. All of these teachers made my high school years fun and also inspired me to become a better person both inside and out. My all time favorite teachers would have to be the ag teachers I had throughout high school. I spent so much time with all of these guys from shows all the way to speech competitions. Brent Haken was in charge of the cattle and goats during show season. When it wasn’t show season he was my coach for prepared public speaking events, electricity contests, and livestock judging. Brad Chapman was in charge of cattle and goats when Mr. Haken left. Scott Schaefer was in charge of the sheep and pigs and also did animal science quiz bowl competitions. All three of these guys encouraged me in so many ways to become a better person. Mr. Haken actually told me that I was going to give a speech in 10th grade. He ... ... middle of paper ... ... I am both inside and out. All of these teachers affected me in ways I never imagined or every thought was possible. I’m so grateful that I got to have teachers who were truly about helping the students. The fact that these teachers took the time to connect with their students and made a positive influence in their lives is just so shocking to me and I am forever thankful for them. I can truly say that if it wasn’t for these teachers I wouldn’t who I am today. I’m not as shy as I used to be, but I know that I have to keep traveling in the same direction because it will lead me to bigger and better things in the future. I hold a high respect for teachers because I know that their jobs are not as easy as what everyone makes them sound. I just wanted to say thank you to all the teachers for making an impact not only in my life but in the lives of other students as well.
