Graduation Day There is one moment that stands above all others in every child’s grade school career, and that is their graduation ceremony. The event that every freshman looks forward to from the moment that they step into high school. Don’t get me wrong, people have the most memorable times while in high school, I know have, but it will be a roller coaster experience for all. Nevertheless, it is just something about the anticipation that every teen has to finally be on their own and not having to follow their parents’ rules and orders every day. We are all eager to gain freedom from all of the arguments, chores, and restrictions, although, we will eventually miss the little things that are done for us. Waking up the morning of the ceremony, I had no clue for what was yet to come, knowing that I had to be at the Georgia Dome at two o’clock which was three hours prior to our ceremony, I had a lot to get done before leaving. Making the drive to go get some of my family members so that they could catch a ride with my mother had to be the most time-consuming of that morning, I had to drive from Hampton to nearly downtown Atlanta and McDonough, this nearly took about an hour and thirty minutes, not to mention my haircut appointment later on that morning. After I get my cut, I head back home to prepare all of my clothes for ceremony, when putting on my clothes is when the hype of day really began to dwell on me of how this will be the last time that I will see most the peers I grew up with, the goodbyes to the teachers who watch us grow for four years, and the fact that I am a couple of hours from becoming an alumni. My mother couldn’t resist going through the routine parts of any major event, she had to take pictures, so once that was over I left to pick up Taiye and Kvon, two of my closest friends who were …show more content…

Being that it is about forty minutes from the time that we had to be downtown, we’re now rushing. Praying that my car won’t have any more problems throughout the day, we calmly head to the dome, knowing downtown parking is horrendous, we take about fifteen minutes to find any reasonable parking spot. As the entire class of 2016 for Lovejoy High stands out in front of the dome, we all had few hours left with each other. Hearing the cheers and chants while walking through the tunnel is unforgettable, lining up to walk onto the field is an indescribable moment, especially with me being a Falcons’ fan it was the best of both worlds. Strutting out on the field was breathtaking, but once we sat down the ceremony was unbearably long so it became a little difficult for me to stay attached to the moment. I rise sluggishly with my designated row to walk across the stage, as my name is called I hear my friends and family screaming to the top of their lungs, I was overran with emotions but proudly shake the hands of the administrators and council members, then walk down to smile for the greatest picture of my life so far.
