I stood first in my class of 75 and 4th amongst 420 students enrolled for engineering. I was also the topper for C Programming in the... ... middle of paper ... ...aculty in the CISDE department and the much hyped facilities available in the campus, I’m sure that it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain immense knowledge and expertise to build a successful career in Computer Science. Given a chance to attend the M.S. in C.S. program at your esteemed university, I’ll take full advantage to grasp as much as possible with the extremely well designed curriculum of this program and to develop myself with all the requisites of an I.T professional.
My academic curriculum in School was responsible for molding my interest in Computer Science. I got introduced to programming while I was studying in 8th grade, it made me very excited and I showed immense interest in this field. I have learnt C++ in 8th grade and Java (BlueJ) in 9th as well as in 10th grade. In 10th grade, I have secured 90% in Computer Application and have been among the toppers of our school in this subject. After the 10th grade I was motivated to take Computer Science as specialization in Senior High School (11th and 12th).
When I look back at my life, I see the dots which got interconnected and carved a path leading to my interest to pursue Master's degree in Computer Science with specialisation in Computer Systems and Networks. I come from a small town, Rabkavi situated in Karnataka, India. Right through my school days mathematics was my favourite subject. I hit the bull's eye by securing an out of out score in my final year of School. I could solve problems of class 10th when I was in my 8th class.
I am a final year student of B.Tech degree program in computer science and engineering branch at Gitam University, Visakhapatnam. Since my childhood I had immense interest and liking towards computers. I have excelled in academics at every step in my education. In my 12 years of schooling I always stood first in class and my interest towards computers made me take a course of computers in my 12th grade where I learnt Visual Basic and Oracle and scored a good percentage. A strong desire to ingrain the fundamentals of computers and flourish in this field made me to join GITAM University where I have qualified in an entrance examination among 20,000 students who have appeared.
My schooling introduced me to Mathematica, Pascal, HTML and Database Management [MS Access] and hence my inclination toward field related to computers became stronger. My knowledge and grip over Mathematics, Science as well as other logical subjects helped me secure 88.86% in 10th grade, 81.40% in 12th grade. This got me admittance to Bachelors, in Computer Engineering at Nirma University, one of the prestigious institutes in India. My undergraduate program has covered almost an entire spectrum of the core technical courses of Computer Science and programming but the subject “Mobile Computing” and the fundamentals of database systems in the subjects “Database Management System” became my area of interest... ... middle of paper ... ... that I always wanted to learn and I certainly think that the graduate studies are absolutely essential to enhance myself. Initially, I was little confused about which university to choose but after going through profile of Jernej Barbic whose research area of interests are Computer Graphics, Animation and Simulation; I got a firm and positive opinion about studying and working under the guidance of USC professor.
I had learned BASICS, MS-DOS along with the subjects in my school curriculum. I chose Computers as my elective subject for my grade 10th (secondary school) to grasp the better understanding about Computers which led the foundation of Computer Engineering as my career. In my 12 years of schooling I was always ranked among top 2% of the class. My strong liking towards Mathematics and Science, helped me in doing fairly well during my 10th and 12th grades. After school, I appeared for State Entrance Exam for Engineering, in which I secured a position in top 2% out of two lakh aspirants.
In my high school years, I chose to study science subjects, preparing me with the basic prerequisites skills needed in pursuing a degree in the field of computer, networking and communication, such as a basic knowledge of mathematics and physics. In addition, during my high school years, out of personal curiosity and interest, I have familiarized myself with some programming languages like C, C++ in Linux environment, and JAVA by reading about these programming languages from books and internet websites. Moreover, a six-month Course of a Computer Operator in the year 2006 helped me master Computer Concepts, Windows Operating Systems, MS Office Tools, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and FoxPro. To pursue my dreams further, I came to England three years ago. I spent the first year learning English language.
Software And High School The beginning of the 1990's is marked by the era of computers. Everywhere we look ,we see computers. They have become an essential part of our every day life. If the world's computer systems were turned off even for a short amount of time, unimaginable disasters would occur. We can surely say that today's world is heading into the future with the tremendous influence of computers.
I, Likhitha, have been fascinated by the advancements in technology and innovations. Since my schooling, I have been inclined towards problem solving; this made me to opt for sciences – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in my high school education. Gradually I was introduced to one of the most ingenious human innovations: the computer. Soon I was attracted to the fact that it has a major role to play in the contemporary world. My interest in them propelled me to learn language packages like C, C++, J2SE and advanced Java, and also take up the courses on Oracle, MySQL, HTML and MATLAB.
During my primary and secondary education, I was a proud recipient of several awards for academic and extracurricular activities. I attribute my strong academic profile to the perennial support from my parents. My interest in computers grew as I did some basic programming assignments. A simple quiz game in C language was the first application that I developed. Since then, I have targeted implementing much more complex applications.
