Have you ever been some place so small that encompasses so much? The constitution of the Bahamas is based on the Westminster modeled after Queen Elizabeth II. The governor-general of the Bahamas is the majesties representative. Perry Christie has been the prime minister of the Bahamas since 2002. The first prime minister of the Bahamas was Lyden Pindling. The Bahamas system of government is parliamentary democracy. This type of democracy holds regular elections for leaders. The parliament constitutes the legislative branch and it consists of the senate and the House of Assembly. The judicial authority is compromised of the Supreme Court and the court of appeal. The Bahamas does not charge taxes to the people. Instead, the Bahamas raises money by taxing goods that are shipped into the country. Although Bahamian currency looks different from United States currency, they both have the same value. The dollar bills they make are ones, threes, fives, tens, twenties, fifties, and hundreds.
All of the dollar bills have Queen Elizabeth the II’s face on them. They also make 1 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 15 cent, 25 cent, and 50 cent coins. The one cent coin has a starfish. The five cent coin has a pineapple. The ten cent coin has a bonefish. The 15 cent coin has a hibiscus. The twenty-five cent coin has a sailboat.
The fifty cent coin has a blue marlin. The Bahamas population was 319,031 as July 2013.

“Jamaica’s a country of great dichotomy. On the one hand you have a tourist industry with great beaches and resorts, but on the other you have such great poverty and the violence that goes along with that.”(Michael Franti) In this paper, I will talk about the geography, the history of Jamaica, the people that live there now and that lived there in the past, the lifestyle of the society, and the society, like the government and economy.
Currently, about 13 million Bitcoins are in circulation. However, the total number of Bitcoins that can be generated is arbitrarily capped at 21 million coins, which is predicted to be reached in 2140. Also, because a Bitcoin is divisible to eight decimal places, the maximum amount of spendable units is more than 2 quadrillion (that is, 2000 trillion).
In comparison to the American System of government, other nations such as Britain, France, Canada, and Mexico are quite similar. The British Parliamentary system does not have two houses of the legislature; however it has the upper house called the House of Lords, which were comprised of Britain as in dukes, earls, viscounts, barons, and bishops.
Culture, family background and the society in which I live all play a vital part molding the persona of me today. My actions, thoughts and decisions have all been influenced by my environment and the people in which I interact. The main influences that has molded have been the fact that I was born in a Christian household, the Jamaican culture and society and the hardships faced and seen in my lifetime.
Their constitution of 1875 was patterned on the American constitution (Moran, 2014). It provided a separation among judicial, executive, and legislative branches (Moran, 2014). The legislature has an upper house based on equal representation of 13 counties (Moran, 2014). Each county has 2 senators each and a lower house based on population (Moran, 2014).
...rican language largely depends on the racial composition of the speakers. The Bahamian language is more conserved, traditional and Christian than the American religion. There exists clear difference between religions in the two cultures with the Bahamian religion being dominated by the Baptists, Anglicans and the Creole-based traditional religion. However the American religion is more liberalized with Americans embracing many religions that are less known in Bahamas. The American culture customs has major difference with the Bahamian culture. The Bahamian culture is more pronounced with customs than in America. Bahamians are individualistic and do not attach their lifestyles to income but on ethnicity. It is therefore clear that the American and Bahamian culture have clear underlying differences than earlier believed pointing to major variations between the two.
Jamaica is full of diversity. From religion, to ancestry, and even geography, Jamaica is always evolving. From the towering mountains all the way to the warm and sandy beaches, Jamaica is a sight to see. However, Jamaica was not always a happy and carefree place. The Jamaican people have suffered from war, disease, and slavery. Jamaica is a small and beautiful country that thrives with culture and should be studied by everyone around the world.

United States and Jamaica have many similarities such as they were both under British rule for several years, and they both elect officials to govern the country. However the differences between the two are quite vast when it comes to the quality of education, government, and healthcare. When the three are compared it is clear to see that in terms of where is a better place for a child to grow up the United States is a better place to be.
Situated just south of Cuba in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is well known as a popular tourist spot and the birthplace of reggae music. Populated initially by native Arawak Indians, who gave the island its name, “land of wood and water (Jamaica).” However, this beautiful land’s almost pristine beauty was shattered by outbursts of violence surrounding the 1980 political elections. This fighting was sparked by the people’s mistrust of the ruling socialist party at the time. The reasons for this fighting and this mistrust are not simple, they are intrinsically tied to the island nation’s history from the beginning of its colonial period five hundred years before.
In the United States every state is granted the right to govern itself without inference, with the exception being that it must adhere to the rules of the United States Constitution. Each state is entitled to create their own constitution that they deem appropriate for governance. Firstly, we will delve into the history of Hawaii before it was a state. Next, we will examine the demographics of the state. Then, we will examine the organization of the state government of Hawaii as well as the role of the governor. Finally, we will conclude with the specific controversies that the state of Hawaii faces. In this essay we will explore the state government of Hawaii and the controversies that happen in the state.
“It’s Better In The Bahamas”. This slogan advertises throughout the world to attract tourist. Is it really better in the Bahamas? Many articles on television and in the news paper address the issues in the Bahamian society. While many pay no attention to this dilemma, many Bahamians live in constants fear. Miss Bijoux a single parent lost her job two months ago. One night she lay down on her bed thinking of all the possibilities of obtaining a job. Deep in thought how is she going to care for her children, and how is she going to help her twelve year old pregnant daughter? Lost to the world her phone rings, hello she said the caller answer hi, is this Bijoux residence? I am calling from PMH (Princess Margaret Hospital). Mrs. Bijoux drop the phone and runs to her children’s rooms. When she reaches to her son’s room he was not there, she kneel down on the floor and recites a prayer “Lord please let my son be okay”. Immediately, she calls her family to pick her up and drive her to the Hospital. When she arrives at the hospital she saw her lifeless son on the ventilator in pulmonary distress with blood stains over his clothes. Without shedding a tear, she waited patiently for good news. Unfortunately, her son expires three hours later. Mrs. Bijoux is a victim of a drive by shooting in Nassau Village. While the Bahamas is battling against the economic crisis, the three major issues in the Bahamian society are crimes, unemployment and sexual abuse.
Over the last five hundred years the Cayman Islands have had a rich and diverse history. They grew from being very isolated islands inhabited mostly by crocodiles and turtles to being one of the worlds premier tourist and financial centers. Being so small and isolated has given the Caymanians a strong sense of history and culture that is distinct, even from their Caribbean neighbors. They enjoyed a relative sense of insulation from many of the problems that plagued the rest of the region.
Attempting to analytically appreciate the religious inclinations of the populaces of the Caribbean, it is undeniable that the region must be consumed as a whole. With interconnecting origins, environs, and social formations, it was interesting to consider the emergence of Caribbean religious affiliations collectively. Through the process of socialization, displaced persons culturally survived the misfortune of slavery and the pressures to dismantle their embryonic religious autonomist groupings. Under an anthropological scrutiny, the regrettable interrelations between colonial entities and slaves of their possession generated modern misconceptions of Caribbean religions and attributed to their current configuration. Spinning under the pressure
