Looking for information related to a particular topic, on the internet, one of the methods is using a search engine. Google Search Engine is illustrated in performing a basic search, some of the special features and a brief comparison with another search engine to indicate the reputation in finding relevant information. Google is examined to search for web articles only.
Hill (2005) suggested that, Google’s, Internet Search product had changed the way people access information, changed the way they thought about information (p. 11). From its registration on September 15th 1997, Levy (2011) indicated that Google continued growing, in users’ priority for information (p. 112). Google search is a free service available to internet users, it is one of the many products owned by Google Inc. Google search was termed, “the avenue for connecting people to information” (Internship, 2013).
How to use Google Search to locate Information
The Google Search Page is shown in Figure 1. The way to gain information from Google search is by entering, “www.google.com” on any internet browser. Type in the search query and pressing enter will displays a number or websites for browsing. Clicking, ‘I’m feeling Lucky” when performing a search, brings up, “the perfect match the first time without having to page through the search results,” (“Google search features,” 2014).
Search for articles, images news or groups by clicking the relevant tab at the top of the page. Google automatically completes the word or phrase for quick and easy input, incase your spelling is bad or for quick access. Search engines provide a useful tool for finding and location information on the internet. Similar search features, for searching the web for information or looking for images or news are available by almost all search engines. Google remains popular because of its reputation, generation of more search results, due its superior hardware and software.
Google may not return the specific page you want, but that doesn't mean the information isn't out there, different strategies and terms may be used to produce the desired outcome.
I would like to recognize my usage of Google as a search engine for both the articles and images that are used in making this report.

Google’s business is mainly focused around vital areas, like advertising, search, operating platforms and systems and platforms, hardware products and enterprise. The company produces its revenue mainly by distributing online advertising. Google also produces revenues from Motorola through selling products. The company offers its services and products in over 100 languages and in over 50 regions, territories and countries. The company assimilates various features in its search service and gives dedicated search services to aid users modify their search. Google also gives product-listing advertisements, which comprise of product information, like price, merchant information and product image without needing ad text or extra keywords.
Google’s mission statement is “to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.” From the beginning, the company has focused on developing its proprietary algorithms to maximize effectiveness. Google continues to focus on ensuring that people access the information they need.
When searching on the Internet, one may find it difficult sometimes to know where to start. With the seemingly limitless amount of information, one should use the resource suitable for the searcher's needs and tastes. Comparing different factors like databases, directory types, strengths and weaknesses of two search engines, such as Yahoo! and Lycos, can provide an advantage to someone looking for a starting block.
Search engines are not very complex in the way that they work. Each search engine sends out spiders to bots into web space going from link to link identifying all pages that it can. After the spiders get to a web page they generally index all the words on that page that are publicly available pages at the site. They then store this information into their databases and when you run a search it matches they key words you searched with the words on the page that the spider indexed. However when you are searching the web using a search engine, you are not searching the entire web as it is presently. You are looking at what the spiders indexed in the past.
