Do you have goals you to want to accomplish this summer? Goals can help one’s life by, knowing what you want to achieve, or become in life. Without any goals, you probably won’t do the things you wish of doing or achieve what you want to be when you’re older. “If you really want to be successful in life, you have to plan out goals” is what my teachers and parents have always told me. Joining the Timbers Soccer Academy team, getting a job, and graduating high school are my main goals I want to accomplish this summer. I started playing soccer when I was five years old and I deeply fell in love with it. Whenever I watched a soccer game on T.V, I would always wish that someday I could make it to play on a professional soccer team. Now that I’m seventeen years old, I have more chances to improve my skills and could finally tryout for the Timbers Soccer Academy team which is one of my goals this summer. The only way for me to get better is to keep practicing and this summer I will keep going until I reach my full potential. By making this goal come true, I would have to join a soccer clu...
Soccer has always been my passion. I started to play when I was in second grade. I have played continuously and am now a captain of the Suttons Bay Lady Norsemen. We are a high school cooperative team consisting of players from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport. This is our fourth year of existence and we worked hard to establish our team and its killer reputation. The part that I am most proud of is that I was among a group of girls that helped convince the Suttons Bay School Board that our high school should establish a girls' high school team. We asked to be put on the board's agenda and prepared a persuasive presentation outlining the reasons that girls at Suttons Bay High School deserved their own team. We knew that money was not available to fund the team, so we promised to find it ourselves. The Board approved our team in the spring of 1997. Our team members and parents spent long hours in fundraising to pay for our uniforms, equipment, transportation, referees and coaches.
As the most of my peers, I have been asking myself a question, what is it really I want out of my life? This question has been bothering many people, and not only the college students who are trying to figure out the path which will lead them to the comfortable life. One might ask, what is that comfort that we all are striving for? Is it a state of mind or is it some unknown world that we are so eager to enter? Well, it varies from person to person, it depends on the life that the person has left behind when the decision to go to college was made. There are several aspects of our lives that could influence us and the future decisions that we'll make. The biggest part of our decision making is the way we were raised and the culture we have got used to. Many Americans believe that the success depends on the family background that you have. There are those who say that if the person was raised in a rich family, all opportunities are available to them and there is a high! chance that the person will live a comfortable life. The same people are saying that if the person was raised in a poor family there are too many obstacles to overcome and most of the time these barriers on the way are too hard to cross. On the other hand, there are those people who say that the America is the land of opportunities and any person could achieve his/her goals if they set their mind to it.
have fun during the summer by skipping class and going to the beach. Finny also
This year, I have set the bar high for myself. I want to be a successful student so I can do well in high school. As I prepare, I have a few goals I want to reach academically, athletically, and religiously. I will do my best to not fail any quizzes or tests, win my volleyball league, and pray every day. I may not reach my goals, but if I work hard and try my best at all the goals I wish to reach, that will be success for me. I hope I can become a better student, volleyball player, Catholic, and most of all, a better person.
Youth Soccer has evolved into a fiercely competitive arena. More and more children are leaving recreational leagues to play in highly competitive select leagues. Select leagues are made up of teams, which players must tryout or be selected to play for. I had the unfortunate task of being an evaluator at such a tryout. Fifty ten-year-old boys had come out for a three day tryout in which forty five of them were placed on three teams. Cuts were made on the field and for those boys who had made a team it was a very exciting, but for the five boys who were cut it was absolutely heartbreaking. Had the children been older they might have been able to deal with the disappointment better, but for most of them it was their first real experience with public "failure". Select leagues have the potential to teach and promote important life skills such as hard work,...
Living in Haiti comes with its perks, growing up surrounded by soccer being one of them. As a child, my godfather could constantly be seen kicking a ball around, always in his element when on a field, according to my father. His passion for the sport was exceptional, and so, he decided to continue expanding the sport and his love for it by starting the FC Toro soccer club. Likewise, I can see that passion in the eyes of first younger brother every day, working hard to accomplish his dream of someday becoming a professional soccer player. And so, when my godfather proposed to start an all-girls soccer team, I was zealous to be a part of it. Today, soccer is one of the biggest parts of my life, and I am continuously training to improve my
In front of my bed, a small cork board is pinned to the wall. Every night since the fall of 2012, I have read the soccer motivation quotes before I went to sleep. As my high school years flew past me, the signs piled up It seemed as though before I had time to blink, it was the summer before my senior year. The night before my first day of conditioning, I rearranged all the things I collected to motivate myself over the past three years. One of those motivators that did not exist on my cork board, however, were my past captains. I had always looked up to my captains. One of which was Abby. I had always admired Abby’s determination, especially watching it increase after receiving the captain spot. I used her determination to drive my own. Every year, I strived for their approval and compliments. From the moment I started soccer, I knew I wanted to be a team captain my senior year.
I’m a Freshman at Eaton Rapids High School, and I have a lot of goals for these next few years. First off, later this year I am running for class president. I have always wanted to give back and lead my class. Also, next year I want to join the football and baseball teams to get more fit. I have already started to train every day. Later in High school I also hope to get accepted into the National Honor Society.
Introduction: The Goal, written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt and Jeff Cox, is a management-oriented novel that illustrates the process of ongoing improvement. The novel revolves around several significant characters, including the main character, Alex Rogo, who is a manager in a manufacturing plant. Athletics have been a part of my life since I was three years old. There has been many great experiences however, the best ones were during my four years of high school playing for Muhlenberg. What I learned about playing soccer for Muhlenberg High School is to always work hard, to be competitive, and to have good sportsmanship. These qualities are important in my next stage at college and in life in general.
Soccer is my passion, I love soccer with all my heart. But, I remember when I used to suck at it. I remember the first time I went to go try out for a club team, I wanted to quit playing right after that practice. Everyone was so good at the sport and I didn’t have any experience. But, I kept trying and I got better and better. I finally went to a team that was more my level, and we’ve all grown up together as a very strong team. I’m glad I kept going with soccer, it’s such a fun sport to play. My biggest dream is to get looked at by a college and get a scholarship in soccer. But, for that to happen, I have to work really hard for my goal to play in college. My last symbol is a paint brush. I love to draw, even though I’m not the best at it I still practice to get better at it. I also love looking at art because it’s so beautiful. What I love about art is that it tells a story and you have to figure out what that story is.
First, soccer is very important to me and I wanted to play for Ithaca College, but I was not given the chance to try out for the team. I remember I emailed the head coach between
As a sophomore it will be my eleventh year playing soccer. I am excited to keep learning and trying new things and to make new friends as well. Last year I was the only freshman on the team and it felt as though I was trying to play catch up. This year I want to encourage the new freshmen and help them rise to the best of their abilities while I rise to mine.
After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. I gained an invaluable support system that has stuck by my side for an upwards of nine years.
My future plans are to graduate this year from West Senior High and to spend another summer at our cottage on Torch Lake where I am planning on being a nanny for some friends of our family. My best friend Carrie (the one who initially got me into soccer) and I also are currently planning a road trip for the end of summer before we both go off to school.
