Theories of global warming surfaced in the nineties as the decade proved to be the warmest on record. Since then, nations have come together to attempt to reverse the effects, if that is at all possible. Some refused and some have made great strides in the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions hoping that this will lead a reversal in the direction of the temperature pattern.
Many nations have a great stake in the future of the World’s climate, as it is the dictator of our very existence. The nations with the most stake in threats of sea level rising and destructive weather tend to be those whose economies are already weak or teetering. Haughty nations with vast resources such as the United States have a little more time to relax.
However, new projections of disease vectors, driven by warm weather, finding their way into temperate climates of the economic giants. Diseases such as dengue, malaria, yellow fever, encephalitis, and cholera which usually spare the Americas could be moving North. Cases of such diseases are popping up as far north as New York and Canada striking fear and genuine concern. Models have lead to projections of potential outbreaks of such diseases in industrialized nations.
Many say that a warm climate could be what makes the difference. Others still fear not a plague resulting from global climate change and rest assured that industrialized nations are protected by modern conveniences such as advanced medicine, sanitation, and proper housing. Both sides have valid points and credible scientists supporting them. This paper will detail both sides of the argument citing evidence of those who see disaster on the way and those who downgrade the threat to just hype.

John F. Kennedy was on tour through a route in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963. This would have been a politically advantageous day, which might have helped him win the 1964 campaign, leading him to the presidential position again. The day started out normally for the presidential couple; they had breakfast at Hotel Texas, where the President gave a speech. Following breakfast, the presidential entourage took a short flight to Love Field where they would start their route through Dallas, waving to citizens as they went by. The President, the First Lady, the Governor of Texas and his wife were in the second motorcade following a Secret Service vehicle. The route of the motorcade was posted on Dallas newspapers seventy-two hours in advance, so the streets were lined with onlookers. That day in Texas, the Secret Service did not protect the President in their normal formation, but rather they were lined up besides the presidential motorcade, le...
In her adolescent years, Tan was around many influences from Chinese and American cultures. She wrote many pieces about “trying to assimilate into the mainstream, American world as a child, often at the expense of her Chinese heritage” (University of Minnesota). When Tan was entering young adulthood, her father and brother became ill, and eventually both died of brain tumors. It was during this difficult time that she learned of her mother’s secretive marriage to a different man in China and that she had three half-sisters from that marriage. “a situation not unlike June’s in The Joy Luck Club, her first novel” (University Of Minnesota). Tan’s mother then made the decision to relocate her living children to Switzerland, it was there that Amy finished her schooling and received her high school diploma, “but by this time mother and daughter were in constant conflict. Mother and daughter did not speak for six months after Amy Tan left the Baptist colleg...

For centuries, well before the basic notions of infectious diseases were understood, humans have realized that climate changes effect epidemic diseases (Patz et al.). The Roman aristocracy retreated to the hills each summer to avoid malaria and the South Asians learned that early in the summer, heavily curried foods were less likely to cause diarrheal diseases (Patz et al.). Patz et al. stated that there have been three distinct transition periods that changed the human to microbe relationship. Those three transition periods are: 1) Early human settlements enabling enzootic infective species to enter the human population, 2) Early Eurasion civilizations swapped dominant infections by military and commercial contact, and lastly, 3) European expansionism over the past five centuries caused the spread of often lethal infectious diseases. They also state that we could be in the fourth transition, with climate change having a wide range of impacts on the occurrence of infectious diseases in human populations.
The institution of marriage is treated differently between the two cultures. Marriage practices are not so important in the American culture, and couples are free to choose; to follow common or to choose a combination of practices. The Americans have not consistently followed their practices and customs and in some cases have adopted other practices. The American culture is not strong on the institution of marriage as it is for India. The current American society does not consider marriage institution; its importance comes after career and financial matters. This is evident in the way the society perceives marriages; marriages are secondary to career and financial matters. Americans can choose to divorce in order to pursue career of because of financial matters. The high rates of divorce also explain how the society views the institution of marriage. India considers the marriage institution as very important and should be treated with all respect by all in the society. The importance of the marriage institution is evident from the marriage practices that have remained consistent in the Indian cu...
Research has shown that these effects could potentially give rise to another dire threat to humanity – an increase in infectious disease transmission. It is widely known that environmental conditions have a direct effect on the activity of infectious diseases. Many pathogens and vectors thrive in warm, moist, unsanitary surroundings and therefore reproduce and spread with ease in areas like the tropics and impoverished countries. With the environment rapidly changing, cooler regions that were formerly uninhabitable to some pathogens may soon become warm enough to support them. Other problems stemming from climate change, including decreases in biodiversity, species richness, and habitat loss may contribute to the spread of infectious diseases as

Introduction: Since the beginning of time, volcanoes have been wreaking havoc on the world, as we know it. Yet in the more recent times, there has been a great amount of debate regarding the effect of volcanic eruptions on world climate change. In this report, the effects of these volcanoes will be explored, particularly in regards to cooling and the depletion of the ozone.

One of the latest and most controversial topics that has risen over the past five to ten years is whether or not drones should be used as a means of war, surveillance, and delivery systems. Common misconceptions usually lead to people’s opposition to the use of drones; which is the reason it is important for people to know the facts about how and why they are used. Wartime capabilities will provide for less casualties and more effective strikes. New delivery and surveillance systems in Africa, the United Air Emirates and the United States will cut costs and increase efficiency across the board. Rules and regulations on drones may be difficult to enforce, but will not be impossible to achieve. The use of drones as weapons of war and delivery and surveillance systems should not be dismissed because many people do not realize the real capabilities of drones and how they can be used to better the world through efficient air strikes, faster delivery times, and useful surveillance.
Did you know that volcanic eruptions, although they are extremely hot, counteract climate change? Large volcanic eruptions, including the Tambora eruption in 1815 and the Krakatau eruption in 1883, create headlines across the world, ground planes, and can change weather patterns drastically for months, or even years, at a time. They spew out tons of various gases, volcanic ash-a pulverized form of rock, and other rock debris. Each volcano has a different composition, so each eruption has different effects. This means volcanoes can have a large impact on the weather and climate of a region. How do volcanic eruptions affect local weather, climate, and atmospheric conditions, and how do these factors affect humans?
...only imagine how hazardous this world we live in become. Amongst countries this can become an international competition to make drones to be used as a factor. When other nations see this particular country is using some type of technology to improve their military system then they would want part of it as well. The drone practice can cause to escalate if other countries adopt to this new technology for their own reason of protection. There will be no turning back because the government of that country would take advantage of these drones to use it towards the citizens instead of using for “terrorist”. The use of these drones is definitely immoral and unethical but some may argue that the of drones as protection against “terrorist” even though as we can see it kills innocent people, creates more terrorists, causes psychological disorders, and violates privacy. The effects of global warming and climate change can no longer be ignored. Unlike previous species and our ancestors that inhabited the Earth before us, we have the gift of foresight and the scientific, mathematic and engineering knowledge to implement changes to benefit the future and lessen the damage that has already been done. Yet, politics and bureaucracy continuously inject roadblocks when it comes to implementing necessary changes and has historically tried to discredit some of the verifiable evidence regarding global warming and climate change; hindering public knowledge and awareness. We are now coming into a new phase of enlightenment, with society now becoming more aware and acknowledging the dangers humanity faces from global warming and
