While the sun does go through cycles, currently the sun is in its cooling phase, which doesn’t correlate with the increase in average temperature. The real reason is due to the increase in carbon dioxide and other potent greenhouse gases such as methane that are released and then trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere. This CO2 is released when fossil fuels like coal and gasoline are burned for the use of energy. In a natural cycle, these gases are normally adsorbed into the oceans, trees and the ground, residing there for many years. This cycle has been in progress for millions of years and has helped balance out the amount of CO2 and other gases in the atmosphere. The cycle has helped maintain stable temperatures of millions of years. The dawn of the industrial revolution was the match that started this rapidly growing fire.
