Global Warming

Global warming is the change in climate due to human initiated greenhouse gases. These greenhouse gases are made up of five key components including water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. In 2011, 14 weather events caused an estimated 53 billion in damage across the United States and that is just the tip of the iceberg as unusual temperature readings have spiked across the globe. Glaciers are melting faster then ever and droughts have increased by as much as 50 percent in the last ten years. According to Daphne Boothe, a Marine Habitat Resource Specialist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “About 10,000 animals go extinct every year, and due to climate change, roughly 15,000 animals go extinct every year. That is a 5,000 increase due to rapid temperature increase and decrease.” Earth is currently being aged 75% faster then normal due to human interaction in daily life as we need to find the solutions to fix it. Global warming is one of the biggest concerns in today’s society as the issue grows more apparent and the problems keep arising. It is time to stop climate change. There are many causes of global warming, but deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels are number one and two. Human life has been built around the climate we already know, and if the climate changes dramatically, we would endure costly and life threatening problems. The problems that society will be confronted with the bad end of the temperature shift will encounter increased heat waves, coastal erosion, rising sea level, unpredictable rainfall, and severe droughts. All of these problems can become a domino effect and end up running down socializations. Even after the facts, Dr. Ball is actually on the bubble as the “Earth Aging Theory” is a 5% chance for the current global warming. Global warming is indeed a major problem that we need to take action on immediately. The scientific proof is there and the problem is real. From the sea temperature rising as the ice sheets melt, to the massive sea storms destroying region on region, its time to wake up and smell the coffee and put your foot down to help. In as little as three years there will be occurrences that will affect the region you’re in. Luckily for us this problem can be altered, even though the damage has been done. Greenhouse gases are human induced and for that fact we should be able to make a change. Global warming is one of the biggest concerns in today’s society as the issue grows more apparent and the problems keep arising.
