In a world that is being changed every minute by technology, the view of who and what people are, is changing just as quickly. In all of this change where is world peace? The world is a place of constant change and a large part of this change comes from the machine of war and the advance of technology. Some of humankind’s greatest innovations have come from the need to defend the rights and freedom of different people. Armed forces are not only used in the protection of others, but are also applied in an effort to rule over or eliminate what is perceived as weaker or inferior races. For centuries there has been conflict between tribes, countries and nations. If humankind continues to travel this path he/she will no longer be the controlling entity on this planet. In a famous quote Benjamin Franklin said “Even peace may be purchased at too high a price”. What this says is that any life lost in war is a price too high to pay. Over the time that mankind has been on this planet this price been paid time and time again to no avail? Wars are still being fought in many countries all over the world today. When will it end, when will there finally be World peace? Many things will need to change in order to achieve this noble goal. The goal of world peace is a possibility and may even happen in the near future, as more countries find freedom, self-government and become part of the global community. A global community that not only serves itself but also aids in stabilizing the world community. All these things are only part of what it takes to secure global peace. What will it take to achieve a true, lasting, stable peace?

On this planet there is only the one sure way to ensure peace, government. Luckily throughout history there have been big societies that helped countries establish governments of their own. One of the biggest and well shaped government is the democracy of the United States of America. The U.S. had two societies in particular to look to for guidance, and those two were ancient Greece and ancient Rome.

In other words, peace is reached when both parties are on friendly terms, respecting each other’s beliefs and rights mutually and live beside one another without intruding or violating each other’s rights. But if one of the parties were to keep on invading the other one – either covertly or overtly -, and the one whose rights have been threatened did not react, this would not be called peace anymore, rather surrendering and yielding to their injustice which is totally unacceptable in
We need more peace-loving-people to help with the selfish needs of war. There are many different reasons as to why nations may go to war. In its simplest form, nations go to war because of self greed. They have an selfish desire for something. Not all reasons of why we go to war are selfish. Sometimes its for protection. There are two sides when reasoning about objectives of war; its a desire to better the way of life and to protect the way of life. For example, in the Revolutionary War, American people fought against Great Britain because they wanted to keep their independence. This is fighting for the protection of their life. And as many say, war is the absence of peace.
What is peace exactly? Why does everyone want peace? What is so special about this word peace? The words you hear on a pageant “I want world peace.” But why? What is so special? Peace- freedom from or the cessation of war or violence, something we all want. Will we ever get that or shall we just continue to dream of it? The famous words of Martin Luther King, "I have come to the conclusion that the potential destructiveness of modern weapons of war totally rules out the possibility of war ever serving again as a negative good. If we assume that mankind has a right to survive then we must find an alternative to war and destruction. In a day when sputniks dash
Finny represented childhood. Firstly, Finny tries to enjoy life. Whenever finny faced a difficult situation he would not worry about it and instead play a game. Finny was always playing games and influenced everyone else to play games as well. When Gene returned from his visit to leper he “found him in the middle of a snow ball fight.” (p.152) Gene went on to say “This gathering had obviously been Finny’s work. Who else could have inveigled twenty people to the farthest extremity of the school to throw snowballs at each other?” (p.153) these quotes show that it was common for Phineas to gather large amounts of people and play games with them. Secondly, when Finny broke his leg Gene focused on non-childlike tasks. While visiting Finny at his house Finny asked Gene “‘you aren’t going to start living by the rules, are you?’ I grinned at him ‘Oh no, I wouldn’t do that,’ and that was the most false thing, the biggest lie of all.” (p.71). Gene started following the school rules again. Gene acted more mature and because of Finny’s absence there was no one to make him do otherwise. This shows that without Finny, Gene matures and becomes adult like. Thirdly, Finny makes Gene do actions Gene would otherwise never do. Finny once said “‘let’s go to the beach’” (p.45). and after thought of the risks like the fact that “going there risked expulsion” (p.46). Gene said “All right”(p.46). This shows that like Finny is trying to make gene have a good time while it is still possible. Finny being childhood means that he must be left behind in order for Gene to mature.
In the Twentieth Century, the nations of the world elected leaders who promised that once they governed, they would build a great society based on the equality, peace, for the common good. What we got was a cycle of violence, death, and destruction. The killing continues as we move to the 21st century. One of our most significant concerns we should be worried about is the availability of nuclear weapons. The potential of a real nuclear holocaust is real and looms largely over the human race. It is simply unrealistic to think that humans will not use such power for evil, but could happen. We need to do everything possible to bring peace to our violent world to make our world and our lives a safer, happier, and better place.

As international views on peace differ, so do opinions of different religions. Every culture has its own view on peace and how to attain it. Religious ties in most cases determine these values and laws. Two such opposing views on peace would be ancient Christian views and Hindu beliefs. Christianity believes in justice and love as the central focus of peace while Hindus learn to manage their own Self and create good karma to achieve peace.
To begin, peace is a massive reason why countries get along very well. For example, Israel has made peace with other countries such as Egypt, and Jordan. Although Israel has made peace with some countries they haven’t made peace with every country, Israel needs to make peace with a country like Syria, or Lebanon. Also, Israel has been in many wars, for example the six day war, and the war of independence. Moving on, many people in the world care about peace, Israel has symbols with a bird carrying the olive branch that is a sign of peace. Bob Marley once said “ We need to love one another, live in peace, and in
