STORY COMMENTS
GHOST LADY is character-driven drama. It 's a journey of self-discovery. The plot that a stripper, who relies on her physical attractiveness for a livelihood, suddenly discovering that she has cancer and needs to have her breasts removed in a story with merit.
It 's a story with that offers the protagonist a strong moral dilemma. There are solid themes about life motivation and survival. The ending is life-affirming. The script sends a message about finding what motivates one to live.

She 's the type of character that can attract talent. She 's tough, flawed, and vulnerable with a strong range of emotion which makes her highly intriguing.
With that said, in every good story there 's room for more development.
As mentioned, Ghost is a compelling character. She makes a telling statement when she says “No one sees me.” This nicely plays to her lack of self-esteem and explains her name “Ghost.” She has great conflict about removing her breasts. She sees this has the one attribute that people love about her. Without her “titties” and her job, she feels like no one will love or see her. She actually uses sex to seduce men, even her doctor. Her backstory isn 't as well understood. She seems to want children, but was told she could not have them.
In contrast, the character of Mike isn 't as well understood. He 's clearly obsessed and mesmerized by her. He says he 's motivated by going after what he wants and hard work, as well as the thrill of victory. He definitely goes after Ghost, but if he were really thrilled by the victory, once he had Ghost one expected he would then be less
Mike Otis is a main character that is certainly not popular at Don Carey High. He is an unusual person who is shy and he keeps to himself. He always wears a big raincoat and safety pins in his jeans. Mike is a dweeb who minds his own business. Mike was also a paranoid person. For example, he gave the wrong address and phone number to the school so if something happened they could not contact him.
The two supporting characters, Yoko and Emma, were both victims the ghost early in the film. Emma was an elderly woman with dementia whom Yoko and Karen took care of because she was incapable of doing so herself. She lived in the house that the ghost haunted, and was killed by it as well. Emma’s character could have been played by a man if the casting director chose a male actor, but by using a woman, it added to the gender bias we see in films. Elderly women are looked at as frail and helpless, so they need help to get through daily life. Elderly men are usually thought to be capable of handling themselves, but most elderly, regardless of gender, need help. Using a woman added the effect to the movie; a helpless old woman being haunted and eventually killed. Yoko was Emma’s first care-worker and the first victim of the ghost. Using a woman as the role of Yoko is based on the previous statement about care-workers; most them are women, due to the job generally being categorized as a job for

... was with a man. Although the story is a ghost story first of all, it is also a comment on the Victorian society, its cruelty, "destructive pressures" and "restrictive code of behavior," that led to many tragedies. The ghost motive is unquestionably the prevailing one and can be understood in the realistic as well as the symbolic way. As symbols, the ghosts stand for the restrained love and the corrupted psyche of the woman getting mad, who cannot control her sexual desires. The ghosts themselves are not scarier than the condition of the mind of the woman who in pursuit of love becomes insane.
The conflict that she faces is the fact that two men asked for help but little did

When I asked myself the very same question, I was forced to start at the beginning of the mansion’s history to come up with an answer. The Lemp Mansion was built in 1868 by the Jacob Feickert. In

...just another person who wants to be friends and not think the ghost will hurt them or that there is anything scary about it. The tale capitalizes on the fact that an adult would be uneasy thinking that a child can play with a ghost without thinking twice, and even more uneasy that a child can see what they cannot, since adults are supposed to be wiser and more able to explain things. The imagination of a child, which can create some astonishing things, is a scary entity.
