Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is a superior source of energy because it is constantly being produced. Radioactive decay of nuclei with long half lives that were imbedded in the Earth’s interior during its genesis accounts for seventy percent of the globe’s internal energy. The remainder of this energy is derived from either the residual heat left over form the Earth’s formation, gravitational forces, or meteorite impacts. Geothermal energy is available anywhere on the planet. On average the Earth emits one sixteenth of a watt per meter squared, however this number can dramatically increase in regions near volcanoes, hot springs and fumaroles.
These planets can be made rapidly, sometimes in as much as a thousand years, which allowed them to trap lighter gases. They also quickly reached a stabilizing mass that keep them from going into the sun. Disk instability describes the process by which a massive disk rapidly cools and making it planet sized. However, the key to getting a constant supply of energy is to have a mix of sources: solar and wind power, geothermal, and hydroelectricity. By having a mix of sources which are spread over a wide area, we can ensure there will always be a supply of energy. In brief, the production of conventional energy resources start to decrease.
The topic of energy is one that is seen in the news more and more as each day passes. As most Americans can tell you these days, energy is essential for industrial and technological development in this or any other country. However, some believe that certain traditional methods of producing energy, such as burning fossil fuels, are depleting the earth’s limited supply of natural resources and may also be harmful to the environment. They encourage the use of renewable sources of power, such as wind turbines or hydroelectric plants. While some debate humans being the cause of climate change, others believe mankind has barely made a mark on what our planet has to offer us.
Energy production from these sources wouldn’t cease, but it would be cut dramatically. Mark Lynas informed us that even if we eliminated all fossil fuel burning power plants and used solar and wind power for everything, there still wouldn’t be enough power generated by them alone to power the U.S. The answer to this predicament is to implement Nuclear power plants in place of fossil fuel power plants. However, renewable energy sources can only provide so much as they can only be used in certain circumstances. Renewable energy sources lack the ability to contribute to the grid at any time which poses a problem for when the demand for electricity can’t be met. To avoid such a phenomenon, humans will have to resort to storing the energy produced from renewable sources. The liquid battery is the future for electricity storage because its impact will have profound effects both economically and efficiently as it will make renewable energy a more suitable and useful option in this developing world. The liquid metal battery is an unfamiliar term in the public eye because it is a recent innovation.
The United States are also to afraid to demolish our old nuclear power plants because of how dangerous the radioactive material is. Nuclear power plant might seem like a good idea, but it seems like it is too dangerous to work with. The United States use many different types of energy, but not all of them are preferable to help the environment and health of any animal, including humans. Renewable energy is a great way of replacing other types of energy that are dangerous and harmful to the environment. The United States have new innovation to start encouraging the use of renewable energy.
