1.) George Washington was the face of the American Revolution. It was his leadership that rallied the continentals in their astonishing victory against the British empire. His presence alone inspired courage in the hearts of those who followed him. Men serving under Washington placed great trust and faith in his orders and were unyielding in their loyalty to their iron-willed general. Respected by both ally and adversary, General Washington was highly regarded as a man of principle. Who better to serve as the first leader to a newborn nation? Washington won freedom for his country and the people loved him for it. America needed unity in their time of despair and he was their keystone. During that time America needed no one other than Washington.
