George W. Bush was a decent president, but he kinda sucked. He was the 43rd President of the United States. He served for eight years. He and his dad, George H. W. Bush were the 2nd father-son duo to both become President, after John Adams and John Quincy Adams. There were several significant issues that defined George W. Bush’s legacy. One of the largest was 9/11. 9/11 is so widely known that I’m not talking about it. The No Child Left Behind Act, Hurricane Katrina, and a summary of George W. Bush’s overall presidency are included. The No Child left Behind Act is extremely important to today’s schools because it means lots of unnecessary and time consuming standardized testing. He just kinda sat back to watch it all play out, while people were stranded on rooftops, and the Superdome was beyond crowded with people forced out of their houses because of the broken levees. Bush waited too long to send help, and when he finally did, some people thought he could’ve done more to help them. New Orleans is still recovering from Katrina, and it was twelve years ago. Bush should’ve and could’ve done more to help them when they needed it most. Most of New Orleans was under multiple feet of water, and he was an idiot and let the people die from starvation and dehydration, because he was too busy doing “other stuff” to pay attention to his own …show more content…

Bush’s presidency wasn’t a very good time for the US, because at the beginning there was 9/11, when he has his highest approval rate, because people rallied around him to stop the terrorists. His approval rate declined after that because of the Iraq War, and Hurricane Katrina. His presidency ended with the US falling into a recession, and the housing market was also in a really bad spot. He left office with a thirty-three percent approval rate, one of the lowest of all time. He kinda sucked as a president, and followed in his dad’s legacy of just being an okay president. In conclusion, George W. Bush had a couple of major, somewhat catastrophic events and a fair amount of controversy to deal with, and he handled it pretty well, at least most of it he did. He had a few miscues here and there, but every president has their moments. Overall, George W. Bush wasn’t well liked, except in the beginning when 9/11 happened.
