Felix Mendelssohn was brought up in a wealthy family, with a strong Jewish faith, and was one of four children. He was born in 1809, in Hamburg, Germany, and died in Leipzig, Germany in 1847. Soon after he and his sister Fanny were born, the family moved to Berlin, to elude the French troops of Napoleon. While in Berlin, the Mendelssohn family experienced some wealth; because of this Felix was able to encounter many artists, musicians, philosophers, and writes. Hiram Revels was born on September 27, 1827 in Fayetteville, NC. Unlike the majority of African Americans in the south, Hiram was born to free parents. His father worked as a Baptist preacher and his mother was of Scottish descent. Because of his Scottage background he was believed to be mixed with African and Croatan Indian lineage. In a time when teaching African Americans was illegal, Revels had an opportunity to attend a school taught by a black women. His older brother Elias Revels owned a barbershop, which he inherited upon his sibling’s death. Two years later he left to continue his education and to obtain a job.

Leonhard Euler was born in Basel, Switzerland as the first born child of Paul Euler and Marguerite Brucker on April 15, 1707. Euler’s formal education started in Basel where he was sent to live with his maternal grandmother on his father’s orders. Euler's father wanted his son to follow him in working for the church and sent him to the University of Basel to prepare him in becoming a pastor. He entered the University in 1720 to gain general knowledge before moving on to more advanced studies. Euler’s pastime was used for studying theology, Greek, and Hebrew in order to become a pastor like his father. During that time at the age of thirteen Euler started gaining his masters in Philosophy at the University of Basel, and in 1723 he achieved his master degree. He was born in the German town of Bonn on the 16th of December 1770. His grandfather Ludwig and his father Johann were both musicians. Johann was to act as little Ludwig's first music teacher, but Ludwig soon changed to the court organist C. G. Neefe. Passing eleven years of age, Ludwig deputized for Neefe, and at twelve had his first music published. He then stayed as Neefe's assistant until 1787, when at seventeen, he took off for Vienna. Even though Vienna was to be his home for the rest of his life, this first visit was short. On hearing that his mother was dying, he quickly returned to Bonn. Five years later he finally moved to Vienna to live and work.
This paper is about the life and values of Thomas More. I will explain why he is considered a saint and a martyr. His life consisted of being an upstanding citizen and a morally devout Christian. As a man who possessed an insurmountable number of virtues, I will reflect on three virtues that I believe Thomas More possessed. The virtues are justice, loyalty, and integrity. I will also incorporate my reflections of Man of all Seasons, as well as James Monti’s biography of Thomas More.
Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 in Oxford, England. He spent most of his childhood in and around London, and was always a bit of a self-educator. He was interested in the stars, and his family used to lie out on the grass looking at the stars. His writing was appalling, and he was one of the only people at school to be issued with a copybook. He was never really good with his hands, and gave the impression of nervousness, being lanky and awkward in movement. Stephen Hawking wanted to study mathematics and physics in a university, but his father believed that there would not be any jobs in mathematics and thus Hawking took physics and chemistry, and only a bit of math.

It was in Riehen, not far from Basel, that Leonhard was raised. Paul Euler had a college education and, in turn, had some mathematical training. Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 in Germany to a Jewish couple. While having initial complications with a misshapen head during child birth, he grew normally. However it was commented by Albert Einstein's relatives that he was a little slow. Einstein's lack of intelligent was shown by his late age of learning how to speak. His first formal education (besides the private education he received before school) was at a Catholic school in Munich . This institution was short-lived because of Einstein's taste and disagreements with the professor. He left the school and Ulm Germans and moved to Milan .
Gauss grew up in a poor family with illiterate parents. He was born in Brunswick, Duchy of Brunswick on April 30, 1777, which in now located in Germany. Even at a young age Gauss was preforming and solving amazing puzzles and problems for his age. There are many notorious stories from when Carl Gauss was just a toddler. One of the famous stories was when he solved the puzzle of his birthdate. He figured out his date of birth with only knowing that he was born on a Wednesday and eight days before the Feast of Ascension. Another story of Gauss was when he was in primary school and his teacher gave his class a problem of summing together the numbers of 1 to 100. It took Gauss less than a minute to find the answer which is 5,050. He knew this because there were 50 pairs of numbers that all equaled to 101. Already as a child Carl Friedrich Gauss was advancing far faster than others in the mathematical world.
