GEORGE BUSH
	The votes were in; the election was over. On the 20th of January 1989, Republican George Herbert Walker Bush became the forty-first president of the United States. After serving two previous terms as Ronald Reagan's Vice President, he defeated Governor of Massachusetts Michael S. Dukakis to earn his new title. Bush had become President at a time when many Americans were uncertain about their country's future. The federal government was intensely in debt due to prior years of budget deficits. Imported foods were more valuable then exports which questioned the United State's economic standing. Foreign policy was also a topic well discussed by Americans. Bush seemed to be doing a good job with it all and in the midst of his presidency a second term seemed to be a sure thing for him. However, the 1992 election marked the end of his reign; he lost by a great margin to democrat William J. Clinton who may I add was later impeached!
	George Bush was born on June 12, 1924, in Milton, Massachusetts to Prescott Sheldon Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Prescott Bush worked in an investing firm, but ended up moving his family to Connecticut where he later on developed a strong interest in politics which led to his position as Senator of Connecticut. Bush had three brothers and one sister who were all brought up strictly and well-mannered. He attended private Greenwich Day School and exclusive Phillips Academy where he was indeed popular. Along with his good grades, Bush was president of the senior class, captain of the baseball and soccer teams, and also played varsity basketball. After graduating prep school in 1942, his original plans of attending Yale University had been delayed due to the U.S. interest in World War II. He enlisted in the U.S. National Reserve where he received flight training and became the Navy's youngest pilot. In 1942, he flew the U.S.S. San Jacinto in the Pacific Ocean where he took part in dangerous fighting. His plane was shot down, but luckily, unlike his two crew members, he was rescued by the U.S.S. Finback, a U.S. submarine. Bush was recognized for his brave, heroic efforts by receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, and after recovery served at the Oceana Naval Air Station until the end of the war in August of 1945.
	Shortly before the end of the war, George Bush married Barbara Pierce, a lady he once met at a Christmas dance.
This was the final straw for many Americans, and enough to push them to the “right” side of the political spectrum, Republican. The election of 1980 brought the re-nominated Democratic candidate, Jimmy Carter, against the newly nominated Republican candidate, Ronald Reagan. While Carter ran a rather “gloom and doom” campaign, Reagan came into the election upbeat and with high hopes of rebuilding the military. Americans, weary of the liberal government, elected Ronald Reagan. Reagan came into the Presidency wanting to restore United States leadership in world affairs with a “get tough” attitude.
Theodore Roosevelt JR. was born on October 27, 1858, in New York to Theodore Roosevelt SR. and Martha Bulloch Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt JR. was a very sick boy, he suffered from asthmatic attacks which caused the frightening sensation of drowning (Grondahl 2015 7-8). These sensations and attacks caused Theodore a lot of obstacles in his childhood. By attending Harvard College in 1875 when he was just seventeen years old, Theodore was able to push past all his setbacks from his childhood (Grondahl 2015 37). When President Franklin Delano Roosevelt assumed the Presidency on March 4, 1933, he gained leadership of a deeply isolationist country struggling to survive a depression and yearning for change. When Roosevelt died twelve years and one month later, he had lifted the United States to world power status, provided recovery from economic depression, incorporated rhetoric as a means to reach the masses, and expanded the powers of the Presidency. In short, FDR had created the Modern Presidency. Through his New Deal Programs, his ability to increase the United States’ worldwide influence, his Fireside Chats, and his expansion of Presidential powers, Roosevelt became the first Modern President and established the precedent all future presidents were to follow.
On November 8, 1988, Republican Presidential candidate Vice President George H. W. Bush was elected as the forty-first President of the United States of America. Bush defeated Democratic challenger Governor Michael Dukakis by a ratio of a bout six-to-five. 49 million people voted for Bush, netting him 426 electoral votes while 42 million voted for Dukakis getting him 112 electoral votes. Strangely, a man not even running for President received an electoral vote; Lloyd Bentsen (Democratic Vice President Nominee) received one electoral vote from the state of West Virginia. Bush's victory was also a victory for the Republican Party, but the Democrats received a similar victory in that they retained control of both the House and the Senate. The presidential election as a whole was a negative race, with an abundance of personal attacks (mainly instigated by Bush). The election of Bush in 1988 confirmed the Republican domination of presidential politics for another four years.
John F. Kennedy was actually born as Jack F. Kennedy. JFK was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. That 's basically the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. JFK had 9 brothers & sisters. JFK`s family wasn 't that close of a family but none the less JFK himself was a family man. But being President is a busy job so he probably didn 't get that much time with them anyway (History.com. A&E Television Networks,n.d. Web). JFK was indeed born to one of America’s wealthiest families. JFK first attended Princeton University but, after just one year he transferred to Harvard University where he graduated in 1940. Besides being a President JFK was also the lieutenant of his navy crew during WWII (John F Kennedy. N.p., n.d.). He also served three terms in the House Of Representatives. In 1952 JFK was elected to the U.S.senate. Then later in 1960 JFK was nominated by the Democratic Party to run for president against Vice president Richard Nixon ("John F. Kennedy Elected President." His parents had owned over a one thousand acre ranch and he made various trips to the Civil War Battlefields with his father. Georgie decided when he was 10 years old; he wanted to become a famous and well -liked general. Patton had much respect and love for his father and even after all of his accomplishments as a general, Patton still came to his father's feet. He learned at a very late age as a child, and never learned basic skills such as proper spelling “Articles/biographies/military leaders/Patton/George S.”
On November 2, 2004, President George W. Bush was nominated and elected for his second and final term of presidency. Throughout the course of his term, a vast amount of controversy revolved around the actions of President Bush. Some of the main matters that were significant during his first presidency were the issues of abortion, pro-choice versus pro-life, and AIDS, which led to a fluctuation in his popularity with the masses. However, even with these issues, the unforgettable tragedy of September 11, 2001, and the start of the Iraq War, Bush was reelected to President of the United States despite everything he had going against him.
During the summer of 1941, Chancellor Adolf Hitler initialized “The Final Solution'; to the “Jewish Question';. Hitler started this program because he wanted to create a highly centralized state and one for the master race, Germans. Exterminating Jews was, for Hitler, the only way to create a perfect Germany because it would eliminate the ‘malignant tumors’, the race that caused Germany to lose World War One. Hitler’s decision to start exterminating Jews changed the course of history. In the end, over 6,000,000 Jews were killed and a Jewish state known as Israel, evolved.
The Presidential Election of 1992 In 1992, the incumbent president, George Bush, was seeking reelection. It was the general consensus that he would be the 'hands down, no contest winner'. When the smoke had cleared and the votes were tallied, many were shocked at the results. Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton defeated the incumbent in a landslide!
Bill Clinton known as William Jefferson Blythe III was born on August 19, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas. His mother's name was Virginia Cassidy and his father was William Jefferson Blythe. Bill Clinton never got to meet his biological father due to the fact that he died in an accident three months before he was born. Bill Clinton was taught to read at a very early age by his grandma, Edith Cassidy who practically raised him. In 1950 Bill Clinton’s mom married Roger Clinton who was a car dealer and an abusive alcoholic, when Bill Clinton was fifteen; his mother divorce Roger Clinton then remarried him again. Has a young boy he was very religious to the point where he went to church on a regular basis and when he became an adult he was a member of a Baptist church. He became infatuated with politics when he was a teenager; he won student elections in high school as well as at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he graduated from and later on won a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. When he graduated from Yale Law School Bill Clinton taught law at the University of Arkansas for a short amount of time.

His family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut, when he was a young boy. Bush family was rich and his parents raised their children to be modest. Bush father was an investment banker who later became a republican senator from Connecticut, serving from 1952- 1963.("George Herbert Walker Bush pg, 20") As a teenager bush attend Philips Academy Andover, a boarding school in Massachusetts. Bush was also into sport a lot. when he was in academy he was a captain for baseball and soccer team. Bush graduated high school in 1942.

He was born into a happy, well-disciplined family, and had a very happy childhood. Before Reagan held office, Reagan was a radio announcer, and became the voice of Major League Baseball in 1932. Reagan also had a 7-year contract with Warner Brothers, and made about fifty movies. The word “job” comes across as hard work, and chores, but the thing that is often overlooked is the deeper meaning that comes with it. Many people may look at the residential advisor position and believe they are only there to get the residents in trouble when they break rules. After my observations, interviews and overall reflection on their subculture, I came to the realization that being a residential advisor is much more than writing residents up for alcohol or noise complaints. It is about the relationships built and the idea that you’re helping others the way you were, or weren’t, during your freshman year in the dorms. The RAs may be there for the free room and board as well as the pay, but they are initially there to make the best they can out of the resident’s dorm experience.
