Geography of Cuba
The geography of Cuba is very diverse, with large mountain ranges spanning the western and south central regions, and a beautiful 2,320 mile coastline that boasts white, sandy beaches to the north. The semitropical climate of Cuba supports lush, agricultural fields in which many species of plants and animals thrive.
The main island of Cuba is about 40,543 sq. miles, and Cuba's Isla de la Juventud (Island of Youth) covers about 1,180 sq. miles. Also part of the Republic are four sets of small archipelagos: the Sabana, the Colorados, the Canarreos and the Jardines de la Reina.
The main type of soil found in Cuba is red clay, along with some sand and limestone hills. A surprising three quarters of Cuba's land is fertile countryside and is readily accessible to many harbors. Cuba has a unique advantage over the other Carribean islands because of its accessibility to harbors, which allows for the transport of agricultural goods easily and efficiently to foreign markets.

Agile project management is an iterative approach to the planning and monitoring of project processes. Agile projects are conducted in smaller tranches called iterations with each of these iterations closely reviewed and critiqued by the project team (employees, representatives of the clients etc.). The knowledge gained from this process is then used to ascertain the next steps of the
Old Blood and Guts was born in 1885 in San Gabriel, California. He was a man who from a very early age knew he was destine for a life in the military as one can read in his journal “ When I was a little boy at home I used to wear a wooden sword and say to myself: ‘George S. Patton, Jr., Lieutenant General’.”1 He followed his dreams and gained an educated at Virginia Military Institute and the U.S. Military Academy. On his graduation in 1909 Patton was commissioned a second lieutenant; he advanced in rank to full General by 1945.

Being one of the most controversial generals of World War II and in American history, General George S. Patton is today regarded as a folk hero due to the eponymously named 1970 film, Patton. Well known for his aggressive battle strategies, charismatic personality, profane language, and contentious public comments, Patton often brought forth an amalgam of frustration and admiration among his colleagues and soldiers. His posthumous biographical film which details a section of his life is, for the most part, historically accurate in both its telling of World War II battles and of Patton’s personality, ambitions, and beliefs. However, where the film suffers primarily is the slight oversimplification of Patton’s disposition
He always wore a highly polished helmet, cavalry pants, cavalry boots, and a pair of ivory-handled pistols. His speeches sometimes curse words in them and his speeches made his men have confidence. Sometimes Patton’s behavior made Eisenhower stress about it. Accepted during the war, Patton’s vocal nature ultimately led to his relief. Patton was also an Olympic athlete. He finished if fifth place he could have been high but when he was at the pistol-shooting event. The judges said he miss one of the targets but Patton said that his bullet went through one of the holes he had already made. Patton designed his own sword men at West Point and he also was the foremost fencers in the United States. Patton redesigned the Army’s saber combat doctrine for the cavalry. He also designed the Model 1913 Cavalry Saber which is named the “Patton sword.”
Patton had 345 tanks by the time he took the brigade into the Meuse-Argonne Operation in September 1918. When they entered into battle, Patton had worked out a plan where he could be in the front lines maintaining communications with his rear command post by means of pigeons and a group of runners. Patton exposed himself to gunfire and was shot in the leg while directing the tanks. He earned the Distinguished Service Cross for Heroism for his actions during that battle
General Patton was a visionary in the operational employment of combat forces and tactical strategy. He dedicated the 20-plus years between World War I (WWI) and World War II (WWII) to honing his combat tradecraft. According to AFSNCOA Student Guide, LM06, Strategic Planning, vision is “ideal state of being or existence in the future” (Department of the Air Force: Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education (AETC), 2013). So, the obvious question: does General Patton’s vision regarding operational employment of combat forces stand the test of time? The answer: yes, absolutely. General Patton’s vision is alive and well today, nearly 70 years later, in at least two scenarios: (1) tank combat formations and (2) application of airpower to support ground force maneuvers.

UNLIKE many war heroes who had no intention of ever becoming famous, George Patton decided during childhood that his goal in life was to be a hero. This noble aim was first inspired by listening to his father read aloud for hours about the exploits of the heroes of ancient Greece. Homer's Iliad and Odyssey were particular favourites of young Georgie, who could recite lines from both texts long before he could even lift a sword. These classic images were filled out by recent war stories of living soldiers, particularly those of John Singleton ''Ranger'' Mosby. John often visited the Patton house and would entertain Georgie for hours with tales of his Civil War adventures. With this steady diet of combat regalia, Georgie was convinced that the profession of arms was his calling.
Ujjayi breath is a technique employed in a wide range of yoga practices and it is typically done in combination with asana (poses). Mastering this breathing technique will deepen your practice, calm your mind and strengthen your body. The Ujjayi breath is said to be very close the way that a newborn baby breathes, and learning to do it correctly will benefit you in many ways.
Agile software development is a group of software development methods based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams. It promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery, a time-boxed iterative approach, and encourages rapid and flexible response to change.
Agile project management is widely used by Information Technology professionals for software development. It was not always this way. In the earlier stages of development the norm was to use “heavy” methodologies such as Waterfall or Spiral for software development. These other methods were criticized for having too many regulations and being unable to adapt to project changes. People understood these methods were flawed because IT teams were not delivering software that met the agreed-upon budgets, schedules, or costs. In fact “The DoD (Department of Defense), noted that, of the $35.7 billion spent by the organization in 1995 for software, only 2 percent of the software was usable as delivered.” (Freedman). This led IT professionals to try out new ways of managing their projects and used the internet to share their experiences with each other. Two more common agile methods, Scrum and Extreme Programing, were developed in the mid 1990’s, but at that time there were not yet any guidelines that detailed what Agile was. In 2001 seventeen software developers meet in Utah to discuss the new ways of managing software projects and published the Agile Manifesto for Software Development.(The Agile Alliance). The Manifesto underlined common values and principals of all agile projects and led to what Agile is today. Agile Project Management is a lightweight method for software development projects. This means it has fewer rules and regulations to follow; instead, there are guidelines and principles that can help guide the project team along the way. This is why there are many different implantation methods, but not all will fit every project. Agile is meant to be tailored to every different project which means every ma...
Dead Poets Society, a movie set in Welton Academy, a rigorous and elite all-boys private school, brings to life the philosophy of transcendentalism through its characters. The philosophy, which believes a person needs to find their individual, unique self and not allow the conformist ways of society to hamper the ability to have self-reliance, is introduced by Mr. Keating, the new English teacher who, through his distinctive teaching methods, exemplifies the transcendentalist idea and breathes life into it. His personification of this philosophy is not only readily welcomed by the boys, but acted upon, consequently impacting his students in a profound manner.
