Geography
The Country of Russia is within the Asian continent and its capitol of Moscow located at Latitude 55*45’07” N Longitude 37*36’56”E and is 495 ft (151m) above sea level. Russia, also known as the Russian Federation, has a land mass measured at 6,592,850 square miles and is almost twice as big as the next largest, Canada, and 70 times larger than the UK – and its size has always been the basis of its colossal potential strength. This country is the world’s largest country based on area and covers eleven different time zones. It borders six different countries which are; Sea of Okhotsk, Finland, Belarus, Ukraine, Mongolia, China and Estonia. Due to the enormous size of this country the government has divided its areas into eighty three different federal subjects. Twenty one of these subjects are considered republics and are able to set their own languages and constitutions. These republics are; Adygea, Altai, Bashkortostan, Buryitia, Chechnya, Chuvashia, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Karelia, Khakassia, Komi, Mari El, Mordovia, North Ossetia-Alania, Sakha, Tatarstan, Tuva and Udmurita.
Russia is less generously furnished with suitable agricultural areas. The country is divided roughly into three main zones. The tundra is found north of the Arctic Circle and cannot support human life. It is too cold for trees since the under lying soil is permanently frozen and sometimes to a depth of several hundred meters. Mosses, lichens and small shrubs are the only natural vegetation to grow in this region. ...ud to claim. Russian people love to celebrate and take most of their national holidays very seriously as done in the United States. New Year is the most widely celebrated holiday, followed by Orthodox Christmas, so Russians enjoy the whole holiday week at the start of the New Year. About 80% of the population contains ethnic Russians; the other 20% covers more than 150 nationalities living in Russia. The official language declared and spoken is Russian. As for the religion the majority of Russian people are Orthodox Christians but there are also many Muslims, Catholics, Hebrews and Buddhists. Economics rise and fall as it does in most countries and balances out with time, world trade, tourism and inflation. All in all the Russians are a proud people, strong willed and are capable of surviving a whole host of living conditions that would break most other cultures.
