With the advances in genetic modification, we could be living longer. The diseases and illnesses that show up later in life could end up killing you earlier than planned. But with genetic engineering we could reverse some of the reasons for the body’s natural aging on a cellular level, which could improve our life span and the quality of life. Although this would improve on already existing life, but if we wipe out every disease, the world would become too overpopulated, more than it already is. Even though we should get rid of diseases we should keep some because of the reason stated above. One of the main problems with genetic engineering is the question about the safety of making changes at the cellular level.
