Genesis teaches us that in the beginning god spoke everything into existence. The earth was dark and nothing was there. God created the planets, the universe, and everything upon it including light and dark, and separating it to form daytime and nighttime (Genesis 1-11). God created the natural world that we leave in through creation, all in six days with one rest day. The second day god created the sky. The third day we created land and plants. The fourth day he created celestial bodies, stars, the sun and the moon. Day five consisted of sea creatures and birds. Day six land animals, man and woman were created. Finally day seven, god rested and blesses the day. This quote “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made (John 1:1-3).” This quote explains what I believe and my worldview. The natural world was spoken into existence by god over the course of days; nothing was there at first. We did not evolve from apes or animals; god is my creator. I believe completely in a heaven and hell. Genesis 1-11 introduces human identity and human relationships. God created man in the image of god, a reflection of god, and his purpose in life is to serve god, like god did for us. Women were created to serve as a companion to the man of god. People are servants of god, so when we interact with people it should always reflect god. Everything we do is for god and like god. God loved us, and god served us. So as children of god, it is our duty to love others and serve others. We were all created in gods image. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: an... ... middle of paper ... ...nd they continued to reproduce. The last form of civilization came at the Tower of Babel, at this point everybody spoke the same language, he made the people confuse and speak different languages then spread them out around the whole world (Bible Gateway). Civilization affects my worldview, because it shows everyone is a sinner, god can destroy the world over and we are still going to sin. Genesis 1-11 shows that our civilization has a need for savior, this affects my worldview, and a biblical one because other people wont recognize what god has done and that we need him and all he has done for us.
