Dwight David Eisenhower also know as “Ike” served as the 34th President of the United States. Ike was elected on January 20, 1953 and left January 20th, 1961. He was born on October fourteenth in Denison Texas, then passed away March twenty- eighth 1969 in Washington D.C. After he was born in Texas, his family and him moved to Abilene Kansas, the Eisenhower family was poor but Ike worked throughout his childhood to work to earn money. He was the third of the seven children, they all were raised by David Jacob Eisenhower who was a mechanic and manager, and Ida Elizabeth Stover, who was a religious pacifist. He did his chores like he was asked to around the house, he had a passion for hunting and fishing, while he was enjoying baseball and football. Ike graduated from Abilene High School in 1909. Eisenhower later went on and married Marie “Mamie” Geneva Doud in 1916. The family traveled both for pleasure and to revisit the sites of past of great succeed. He had a great passion of what he loved doing until he died. He was being president, getting wars ready to fight and being a full time dad, president and husband. After two years of working odd jobs after he got out of highschool, he was appointed to the Naval Academy, but was too old to attend. In 1910, he went to an appointment to West Point. Eisenhower was not a good student but not a bad student, he was an average student at the academy, when he went to the military community he surprised them with exceptionals ability. he got hurt a lot during sports, so he was going to have to quit the military due to injuries. Ike ranked 61st out of 164 in his class in the class of 1915. During World War I , he was a training instructor and commander of a training center. He wasn’t very educated going through middle school and high school but he obviously got to where he was all smarts, and could debate everything, and kept calm to where he didn’t get frustrated with people when the tough times came. Ike kept us out of most wars possible, he protected us., he ended most things in war. After he left the president spot he was still active of doing what he loved to do with his family. He went fishing, hunting, and yet worked on the farm with mamie. If it wasn’t for his health issue he would have kept running, but he had to go because of his heart, but he never gave up, he kept fighting for what he loved, at the right time he said it was his time. Fighing in the wars is what got him to the president spot. When he was a teenager everyone turned him down, but he finally got to where he needed to be.
