One can say that there are definitely connections between gender and sexuality. Gender and sexuality can combine to make a huge difference in people’s lives. There are social influences around sexuality that influence us all. Expectations about how women and men, boys and girls, should behave as well as how everyone will be either male or female pervade society. And as a man or female it is believed that one must act and behave completely heterosexual and stay in line with these socialized gender stereotypes.
A lot of attention has been dedicated to the thought that women and men communicate very differently from one another. In this paper I am going to discuss the gender differences in communications between the opposite sexes. Many believe that gender plays a major role in communication but in all reality, that isn’t the case. Several factors play a part in how someone communicates with another person regardless of their sex. The main question is what role does gender play in communication or is it the roles our cultures put on genders’.

The notion that sexuality is fixed and innate disregards the social aspects that impact ones’ sexualities. Gagnon and Simon (1973) further commented that sexuality is a feature of social

Why should sex-role stereotyping remain? Clearly, not everyone in our society develops according to their gender schema. With so many variations of “maleness” and “femaleness”, I, like Bem, question the validity of gender schema.
Sex is an obvious difference from the birth (physical characteristics like genitals and all the other characteristics which differ when the child matures like breasts or growth of facial hair). Contrary to what gender is usually defined as, it is what a child becomes to be either masculine or feminine in nature. This difference is shaped by the society and not something a person is born with. Gender is something that a person is mould into and it is his own. This essay will further emphasize on the differentiation between sex and gender and how society plays a crucial role in the gender development.
