Two and a Half Men Today’s media is a significantly prominent source of our delivery of information, and by most individuals their views of particular subjects are influenced by the media. It is through the media that we learn most of what we know about or believe in regards to politics and world and local affairs. It is a common and significant aspect in our lives, with many forms of media from which the public form their views. In particular, adolescent exposure to sexual content through television and other such electronic media forms is of growing concern, where its potential effects on their sexual attitudes and beliefs may be harmful. Two & a Half Men is a bright representation of these teachings, where many scenes shown highlights aspects of sexuality which have strict boundaries within the Church, such as assumed fornication, artificial insemination and contraception. The extent, for the chosen media item and other related media sources, to which the perspectives of these reflect the Catholic Church’s views, is minimal. Also, Islamic views on sexuality do not reflect some of the content shown in the media. Similar to Catholicism, Islam prohibits the exercise of sex outside of marriage and strictly forbids homosexuality and condemns adultery. Furthermore, having children is seen as the way in which humans can contribute to God’s creation.
