Recommended: Masculinity and femininity

The second a female is born, responsibility is born with her. Since the ancient days, women have been subjected to be “taken care of” and controlled by men. Although mankind have succeeded in fulfilling many things, they still cannot seem to conform to the fact that women should no longer be controlled or portrayed as a sexual object or weak symbol. We would like to talk about how gender still plays a huge role in our pop culture. To this day, popular series/ advertisement/music…etc. are being shown on television that depict discrimination or the empowerment of a gender over the other. Not only are males portrayed in higher paying and more prestigious occupations than ladies, yet they are moreover portrayed in higher economic wellbeing and circumstances (Glascock, 2001). Morris (2006) also found that men were twice as likely as ladies to be depicted in a very intriguing manner in magazines around the world; but for the ladies, they were depicted in household/domestic related themes/topics. Correspondingly, ladies in prime-time TV shows will probably be depicted in conjugal parts while men were depicted in word related parts (Lauzen et al., 2008). Conflicting to this examination is single ladies, who will probably have proficient inclinations than wedded ladies (Elasmar et al., 1999). It is believable that these developments are because of something beyond ladies seeking after cutting edge degrees and entering the workforce than before. It is equally critical to note that the marital status of ladies is more broadly known than men and ladies will probably have parental obligations.
