The Gender Knowledge is based on the fundamentals of knowing that both male and female are unique yet the same. However, many people still think that male’s are the superior gender and that females are not as valued as the males. Others argue that females are the ones that have more knowledge and should be respected equally or more than the males due to them being able to reproduce. Both genders are the same and play an equally important role to grow and continue to reproduce the next generations. There may be the obvious differences between them but, both genders are capable of doing the exact same things. It is unfair because both genders take the same studies to get to their working environment. Their shouldn’t be any barriers when both are equal, the author also focuses on the idea that gender inequality is still occurring it is slowly improving but, not disappearing. Another article that focuses on the gender obstacles is “Gender Pay Gap and Its Perception” by Violetta Khoreva. This article focuses on business innovations and management. This article discusses the topic of the business area not having positive appeals for the females who want to work or be a part of a business firm. While revising through this article, the author states that,”Alternatively, women may recognize the gender pay gap, but accept it by considering other aspects of work as more important. ”(Khoreva,2). This piece gives the readers a sense of confusion because it’s clearly stated that women know they’re being given different pay for what the males are receiving and not doing anything about it. Author states,”Explanations of the gender wage gap cannot be complete if only adult employment is considered; rather, an understanding of the gap requires that we also examine the payment patterns of teenagers in the labor market.” (Besen-Cassino,2). By adding this piece of information the author wants the readers to disagree with her work, it helps authors expand their knowledge about the topic at hand and creating a successful topic at hand. By adding adults and teenagers into the mix the tone shifts into a more engaging and education. Additionally, we believed men deserved to have higher power by getting more money than women. After some research, we think it’s not fair that women make less than men who have the same education and the same job. In the long run, it can make it hard for women to support their families. We found out that the gender pay gap is a “complex issue with many causes”, which are often inter-related. It seems that the direct cause of this issue is discrimination. However, that does not mean that inequalities no longer exist between the two genders, the pay gap between men and women is one of the larger gender inequalities seen today. According to an article “ Explaining the Pay Disparity Between Women and Men in Similar Jobs” the authors state that, “ equal pay ranked higher than health care, family and medical leave, pensions and social security for most important legislative issues” (Hessaramiri,Kleiner 3). People want something done about this injustice and are looking towards the government to intervene. The Equal Pay Act is one of these interventions put in place to make employees under the same profession paychecks’ equal no matter the gender. After forty years though, the Equal Pay Act has done little to stop the pay gap from continuing. Hessaramiri and Kleiner inform us that, “ According to the Monthly Labor Review, the weekly earnings of women were lower than that of men for full time employees across all broad occupational categories” (4). Throughout the history of the world, discrimination in all forms has been a constant struggle, whether it is race, gender, religion, appearance or anything else that makes one person different from another, it is happening every day. One significant discrimination problem that is affecting many women takes place in the work place. As of recently the gender wage gap has become a major topic for discussion. The gender wage gap is the average difference between men and women aggregated hourly earnings. Women who are equally trained and educated, and with the same experience are getting paid way less than men. In 2015, female full time workers earned eighty cents for every dollar earned by men.

One very commenly used exapmple of this is the gender pay gap in America. The average woman in this country is making 82% of what the average man makes. That may only be 18 cents, but that 18 cents can have a very large impact on the economy.
Despite the great lengths society has overcome in regards to gender inequality, social issues regarding the difference between men and women still exist. Women in today’s society still continually earn less than men in almost every single occupation. Women were given the right to vote in 1919, yet in 2016 they still have not achieved full equality in comparison to their male counterparts. A lot has changed in the last fifty years in regard to women in the workforce. While it is true that women can work full-time and raise families there is, however, a gender wage gap that continues to exist. In the second article, “No, Women Don’t Make Less Money Than Men,” states that the wage gap is practically nonexistent because the gap is merely five cents. Although, their figures may be true, but I disagree on the point that if women are paid basically the same then why does a gap even exist as in the example the article gave regarding female white house staff. One cannot begin the discussion of gender pay gap without defining it. Simply put, gender pay gap is the inequality between men and women wages. Gender pay gap is a constant international problem, in which women are paid, on average, less than that of their male counterpart. As to if gender pay gap still exist, its exactness fluctuates depending on numerous factors such as professional status, country and regional location, gender, and age. In regards to gender, in some cases, both men and women have stated that the gap does not exist. Due to various countries initiatives to shrink the wage inequality between men and women wages in the work force, the gap has narrowed, respectively, which may have helped form such opinion. However, stating that the gender pay gap does not exist in today’s society, anywhere, is completely unlikely. Seeing that the gap has loosened its grasp in the working world, in other countries, the gap between pay has widen or remained stagnant. One cannot help but wonder why the gap remains consistent even with such substantial progress made in countries where the gap has decreased.
