Not allowing same sex marriage is also a minority discrimination. Prohibiting gays to marry interferes with legal rights of Separation of Church and State. If same sex marriage were allowed, there would be Economic Benefits for the country. Not to mention, Gay marriage would make it easier for same-sex couples to adopt, providing stable homes for children who would otherwise be left in foster care. There are several various reasons that gays and lesbians seek the right of marriage for personal reasons also and they should not be denied the same rights as anyone.
Politically, gay marriage is one of the 'hot' issues that public officials are asked to take a position on. Legally, matters of jurisdiction have caused uncertainty on whether a couple of the same sex will be recognized should they decide to move. Socially, America is still in turmoil due to how strongly both the opposition and advocacy feel for their cause. This has resulted hate crimes and protest, which brings gay marriage to a personal level as well. This issue causes us to question our own morality, as well as what we perceive the impact will be on children and their views on sexuality and core values.
Marriage should be about the love two individuals share, not what gender they are. Most people believe marriage should be between a man and a woman; however society has changed over the years. For a variety of reasons, same sex marriage should be legal in the United States, because every individual should be treated equally and be able to share a life together with the rights and responsibilities of a married couple. “Opponents of same-sex marriage argue that, with few exceptions, marriage has always been about uniting the two sexes and linking mother and father to children. Change that, and marriage ceases to be marriage” (Rauch p. B.2).
The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the history of the LGTB(Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, and Bisexual) movement in the USA, and the different positions that oppose that movement. Also, the current trends indicate a change is coming soon for this country on the issue. There are more gay supporters standing on the side of gay couples affirming that equality is necessary in America. Opponents just claim that gay relationships are uncommitted and shallow, and because of these facts they should not have the right to marry. As opposed to traditional marriage, gay marriage or same sex marriage could be defined as a lawful marriage between two persons of the same biological sex.
I think that gay marriage, or just two gays in a relationship c... ... middle of paper ... ... someone wanted them to, it just happens. I think that there should be an overall vote if the congress really wants to take it that far, and see which side wins. There are so many things that we can look at that can help to see if it is better to ban gay marriage or to allow it. It is giving all people the right to marry whomever they chose to, and it shows them that just because they are a little different does not mean that they do not belong in the world. Now there are some bad aspects to allowing gay marriage, but there are some bad aspects to almost everything in the world.

The topic of same-sex marriage, or gay marriage, is extremely divisive in today's society. This paper will address some of the issues surrounding gay marriage. Many in favor of same-sex marriage suggest that gay couples should have the same marital benefits as heterosexual couples, which is simply a civil rights issue. In contrast, those against same-sex marriage see this concept as a moral matter, which violates traditional ethical standards. Since the beginning of time, most cultures have acknowledged marriage a unity between men and women.
Have you ever imagined how a person feels when he/she is told that they cannot spend the rest of their life with the person they love? One is completely in love and they want to get married because, the law does not allow them. One is denied the legal rights that come along with marriage because he/she is in love with a person of the same sex. Unfortunately, these are some of the challenges that lesbian and gay partners get in many nations. And the sad thing about this is that, most of the arguments offered to keep same sex marriages are flawed and reactionary, and based on nothing other than ignorance, fear, prejudice and bigotry.
To banned same sex marriage is a kind of discrimination. Furthermore, same sex marriage can increase the rate of adopted children and it can increase financial benefits. Firstly, the opposing opponent states that according to Messerli (2014), he states that same sex marriage should not be legalized because the definition and respect for the institution of marriage would be weakened. He concludes that the most sacred institution is marriage, it is created for the man and woman. Messerli (2014) explained that marriage is considered to be a bond between two people.
